Hi David, thank you for the explanation and the hint. I donĀ“t think that it is the server topic you mentioned. It really seems to be a Bufferbloat issue as Gilgongo already mentioned. Two of us are using a cable connection with a standard router (no SQM) and have bad BufferBloat results in all speedtests we tried. So, solution could be to exchange the router with one that has SQM and maybe additionally prioritize the Jamulus upstream. Or change from cable ISP to DSL ISP...
Hi Gilgongo, The test at a different place with a Fritzbox and a different ISP was not successful. I think it was a little bit better but not good. (Same cracking noise when talking / playing) Now I really have no more Ideas where it could come from. I changed - PC - Audio Interface - ISP - Router - Microphone - Cable - Server - Settings :-( Maybe I try the Jamulus OS in the next days...
Hi Gilgongo, Thank you very much for the quick reply. Yes we are using the same ISP. The difference between unloaded and loaded in the speedtest seems to be constantly too high (between 21 and 67 ms). I wonder why this seems to be no issue with other jam software like JamKazam. However, I will take my gear and try at a different place with different router and ISP. I will provide an update thereafter. Thank you again!
Hi Volker, hi Jamulus team, we are 3 musicians trying to use Jamulus. We read many posts, tried many different things, talked with different experienced Jamulus users but still, 2 of us have massive sound quality issues which prevent us from using Jamulus. The sound breaks (klirren?) so that it is really hard to understand each other when talking; by no means there is a way of playing musik together with this sound. Here is my setup: - PC with a i7 CPU - Windows 10 - systems runs a high performance...
