Christian, are you still interested to drive such a transfer to github/gitlab? It looks to me as if nobody would stop you and a number of people would very much welcome it. But please don't underestimate the needed work. It isn't only to upload the git repo to github.com and call it done. The migration will take some time and effort. Please continue discussion in feature request #31 if you want to volunteer.

OK, here's my actual take on this (my previous comments were simply directed at not closing this ticket for the wrong reason). 1) I believe sf.net has well run its course and most people have moved on decades (!) ago 2) nonetheless, the infrastructure works well enough, certainly for esniper contributors 3) the argument of widening the contributor base sounds good in theory, but falls apart in daylight: if somebody cannot be bothered to register an account here then it is highly improbable that person...

My suspicion is a different one now. Are you sure you are using the freshly-compiled binary? What does "which esniper" say? Call esniper with the full path to it. If I understand your output above this might be "~/esniper/esniper 123456789 1.23". Please include the output of "ls -la ~/esniper/esniper".

I am going by memory from many years ago but I do remember that compiling against one of the SSL libraries resulted in a defunct esniper. Try compiling against libcurl4-openssl-dev and most likely you will be fine.

I am using "gnubiff -n --nogui" on a headless machine to watch the IMAP server via IDLE and have it call mbsync to sync new mails as they arrive. I still need to look into systemd to have this run as a service to restarted automatically when it crashes.

Sure, it would be awesome to have continuous, yet low-resource IMAP synchronization. I know absolutely no ruby. I found another similar tool, but it uses python and getmail (which I cannot use because it does not support to leave messages on the server together with IDLE).
