Thanks Guy! The text file is generated manually. i.e., before to go to the site where the images will be taken, we decide de case number or name, evidence names, numbers etc. Also path for the images. The actual procedure: On site, using a Live CD with has GUYMAGER as the APP for imaging, we manually fill (image by image) all the fields in the starting screen of Guymager and the image is done, is finished. The idea, would be to somehow fill the starting screen automatically. This would particularly...

Guy, Thank you very much for your help. This is the first e-mail I received from you in days. In fact, I was missing your normal promptness in replying, but I thought that was due to your holidays. I really appreciate this information and your courtesy in making this available. I will let you know the outcome, Best wishes, Lautaro Barrera From: guy gvoncken@users.sourceforge.net Sent: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 6:34 AM To: [guymager:wiki] Home@wiki.guymager.p.re.sourceforge.net Subject: [guymager:wiki]...

I would like to know how to calculate the extra time that might be required to expand a container created dynamic with a very small size (assuming that there are no space limitations on the disk where the container is placed). Would it be noticeable? Sometimes we introduce huge files (100-1000 GB or more) in containers that are created dynamically with a very small size. We created them small to avoid the time involved in created a fix size huge container (1 TB or more) but not sure is this time...

Hi, Is there a way to know or at least estimate the extra time that would be required to expand a dynamic container?(i.e. por 10 GB of expansion)?. In a certain case that I had, it appears that the time for expansion was in the range of hours, preventing the use of the container for practical reasons. The container was originally created with 1 GB and sholud have expanded dynamically to 950 GB while coping information to it. The container was the ONLY file in a 2 TB disk.

Thank you Guy!! What I need is to fill all the fields in the Guymager screen taken the data from a text file. We normally take 5-10 images and some of the corresponding fields are the same for various or all images and others (like the image name) are unique... so it would ideal to run some sort of script that starts Guymager, fill all fields in the starting screen with the appropriate values and then start the image (of course after choosing E01 or DD) ... I hope have properly explained what I need,...

Thanks Guy, I very much appreciate your prompt reply. Now, is there a way to parse programmatically the fields required to Guymager to run ? I meant a way to fill the corresponding text box automatically somehow? Is there a command line version of Guymager, that allows to run the program several times from within a bash script file? If so, where are the command line instructions?

used Guymager to image HD of several computers (Exx type images). In about 30% of cases, the info file (the plain text file that stores data about the image) was unreadable (it appears as chinese characters). Since there was no change in the procedure, I am wondering what could cause guymager to do this in three cases out of ten?. (the other seven info files were perfect and all ten images were perfect, inlcuding the three were info file is unreadable). Having used guymager for several year, this...
