OK, thanks. That explains the different methods, but the main issue remains to have an option to include the compression settings in a 7z archive. Not all compression settings are listed in the column "Method" or I cannot decipher them, like Compression level, Word size, Solid Block size.

Greetings, It would be useful to have an option to include the full compression settings (GUI as well as command line) in a 7z archive (like a log file or meta data in header). I test various settings to achieve a good compression and when I encounter folders and files with a similiar structure and file types I want to use the same settings. Though there is a column "Method" in the 7z archive I have problems to figure out what these settings mean or how to translate them to the GUI or command line...

Greetings, I want to compress several folders with completely different sizes. Each folder should be a 7z archive. Archives exceeding a set size limit should be split in volumes (e. g. 2GB). I don't know in advance which folder will exceed the limit. Example: 7z.exe a folderN.7z *.* -v2g However all archive have the file extension folderN.7z.001, no matter if they below the size limit or not. Is it possible to specifiy that archives below the size limit keep the 7z file extension (e. g. folderN.7z)...

Here is an updated German translation for XDM 7.2.8. Besides it would be useful to put available translation files to Files section on Sourcefourge since there is already a folder *Lang*. This way people can easily see what translations are already available and can improve or translate new text without beginning from scratch with the english file (en.txt). Another way is to open the jar file xdman.jar in your installation folder with a compression program like 7-Zip and extract the translation ...

As a workaround you can use the option "Add from clipboard". But I would also like an option to import a download list via an ASCII file.
