Patchset 2 was reviewed, counted down, pushed to staging, made it to master. Then David's patchy broke because I incorrectly assumed that every clone of a lilypond repository has a local copy of the master branch. There is an updated fix available. https://codereview.appspot.com/558920043 We must not use the python3 str.format() method. It was backported to python 2.6+, but it is not present in the python 2.4.5 we use. There are some remaining uses of str.format(), although they are not triggered by the xml files we use in our build process.

There is a partial fix on Rietveld: https://codereview.appspot.com/558920043 It fixes processing of 120 of our 127 regression test xml files. Updating this issue with git-cl failed with 404.
