Actually, I have no idea why I ended up in root mode. Anyway, made a new one now. Also, my smb.conf was in my first reply. I have another box used as a media server. Seems to be slow there too, but I don't have any Windows machines. Ah, found it. Attaching the logcat. Seems many of the messages relates to me having the second part in root... But I think that's just noise in this context, I wasn't trying to do anything in the root folder, just mkdir on the SMB folder. Perhaps the clocks are in sufficient sync that this server log is useful? Is OK if I attach them here? 4.2.14 is the Samba version, Debian version is jessie (haven't upgraded though scratch came out today :-) ), with Linux kernel 3.14.7. I think I need more help with finding the "GC properties", where's that?
