Uh - I should have checked something else earlier. I have just re-installed 2.48.1, then 2.47, then 2.46, and they all show the same symptoms that I thought had arrived with 2.49. Clearly something else in my set-up has altered affecting KeePass' ability to acquire the update information. Now then ... what else have I changed/installed/uninstalled/re-configured recently ... ? I'd always had "Tools > Options > Advanced > Check for update at KeePass startup" checked, and immediately on starting 2.49 it began showing a failed message for the check. I have about 350 entries in my database. For some I have created a custom auto-type. For others I use the standard auto-type. For yet others the standard auto-type is not suitable but I haven't been able to successfully encode a custom sequence. When I go to a website with a complex log-in I have no way of remembering, out of these 350, whether I have previously created a working custom auto-type or not. Is there any way to indicate in the main database entry list whether an entry has a custom auto-type sequence created for it? At present it seems I have to edit the entry, go to the auto-type tab, and then I find out. Cpt Trouble: having read Frytka1722's request I don't believe this is the best solution. I don't see any request to change the Windows default browser, only that this specific KeePass entry should always use IE. There may be other keePass entries where other browsers are preferred. Frytka1722: Open your database entry to edit it. Select the 'Properties' tab. Pull-down the options in the 'Override URL' field.
