Thanks for the replies. By "imbalance" I meant that a single parity drive is only recommended for up to 4 data drives, not for nine.

Hi, my current snapraid array (4 data and 1 parity disks, 8TB each) is filling up, and so I'm planning to extend with larger disks (naturally), more precisely 5 18 TB disks. Now how do use the disks for Data and parity? (Option "Cheap") 5x8TB + 4x18TB data + 18TB Parity, which is discouraged by the snapraid developers because of the imbalance between data and parity drives; (Option "Wasteful") 5x8TB + 3x18TB data + 2x18TB Parity, which means that I could only use 60% of the new disk space, and only...

Hi, I may have done something stupid. A few days ago, my OMV NAS was unresponsive (no Web UI, no ssh, no Samba), and so I rebooted it after a few minutes (later I found some mails about exceeded resource limits, so that probably was the reason). Now I did the first "snapraid scrub" since the reboot, and I get lots of errors: Data error in file '/srv/dev-disk-by-label-Data4/file1.mkv' at position '1064', diff bits 73/128 Data error in file '/srv/dev-disk-by-label-Data3/file2.mkv' at position '232',...

It only generates the words. But together with the KeeCracker program (link above) you can run your tests unattended.

OK, if no one else replies to my thread, I guess I'll have to do it myself... ;-) Since I couldn't find what I was looking for, i.e. a program that will generate, for a given word, all words with a small editing (Levenshtein, Hamming or whatever) distance I wrote one myself. I have to say it's a bit of a letdown if you work an a program for a whole afternoon, then it finds what you are looking for in less than a second and it's unlikely you will use it ever again. But at least I don't have to recreate...

Thanks for your reply! are you saying you may have typed something other than you intended when you created the database, and this is a new database? Yes, other than a bug, this is the only explanation I can think of. I created the DB, filled it with all my entries, closed it, and the next day I couldn't open it anymore. And I am sure I am not mixing up the different files. Also enable viewing of the password as you type with the button beside the master password field, to make sure it's not a simple...

Hi, embarassing as it is, I have to admit I can't open my kdbx file anymore. The only explanation I have is that I managed to type my master password incorrectly twice (I already tried enabling the "windows user" checkbox, and I'm absolutely sure I didn't include a key file by accident). Now I still have the old file with my passwords and the browser's password cache, so it's not a complete disaster, but it took me a whole afternoon to collect and enter all my passwords, so I'm not ready to give...
