And that is it! I had to put a file in the ...\Documents\ path, too. I originally configured SkySim to use a different path. It WAS creating images in that path. And using Shoot in APT did in fact load the image when I was connected to the "Camera V2 Simulator" - but no love on your "Sky Simulator" (continued to get the reported error) until I stopped the simulator, reset the path, and put an image file in the path. Now I can successfully connect APT to the "Sky Simulator" camera. That was fun. Much...
Han - I have already uninstalled ASCOM and SkySimulator and reinstalled them. Issue remained. Will now uninstall, clean the Windows Registry, then reinstall (don't worry, I'm a retired IT guy - 30 years - I've done this many times in my life). -- “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.” ― Aristotle On Sun, Sep 13, 2020 at 12:23 PM han.k han59@users.sourceforge.net wrote: I just tried uninstall, but yes there is not setting to remove settings. How do I remove the settings? I've already uninstalled once, but it was not a clean uninstall. MANY registry entries remain (I checked). If I have to, I'll do a manual registry purge, but that's an unwelcome task if you've no other options). Thanks for your help. Hmm. The screenshot did not attach. Here it is.
Han - I thank you for your prompt reply! That .dll is on my system in the location you specify (see attachment). Windows 10 Pro, 2004.19041.450 , MS Surface Laptop (the latest updated in late August) ASCOM diagnostic logs attached. Thanks.
Han - unfortunatley I'm getting this same error. ASCOM 6.5, your latest 0.16 install. Installs fine and loads. Can select in SkySimulator both .NET mount and focuser and start simulation. In CdC can select the .NET mount. In APT can select the .NET mount. But when I try to select the SkySimulator camera in the ASCOM dropdown chooser, then click on the Properties button (as the ASCOM chooser requires), I get the error reported by Kevin.
