GUI: Wrong position and size of elements
I could not find a bugtracker, so I write here. A gentoo user reported a patch. It fixes enblend so that it can compile with GCC-10. I think it should be merged upstream, if you are fine with the patch. https://bugs.gentoo.org/724988 Please tag a release afterwards. Thank you very much.
please retry with 2.12.8 it is fixed for me here.
Thank you for the quick response. I am not able to make changes in CLISP. I need CLISP to compile xindy for TeX. I want to prepare new packages for xindy in Gentoo and ran into a series of open bugs one of them led me here.
There was no reply to this ticket yet. Do you need more information?

OK. You helped me with the original tar.gz, thank you. We can close the ticket as fixed.
Thank you for the old tar ball. Now I could see quickly what causes my packages to break. The new texstudio-2.12.6 tar ball extracts to the subfolder texstudio2.12.6 instead texstudio-2.12.6. You could help us, is you would stick to one scheme, we would not have to change all scripts for a simple version bump. There was a 100 MB debug file in the old tar.gz. I guess this was the reason someone complained... I will prepare new packages for the small, new tar ball now. If you want to add the - again...
do the new 2.12.6 and the old 2.12.6 version correspond to the same hg checkout?
Thank you very much, now I can compile my packages again. Please do not change the tar.gz in place without a version bump. Could you explain what was changed? It is now just a third in size. We will have to rewrite our packages on Gentoo depending on your changes. Best, JS
Plans moving from SF to github
What do you think about this duck as alternative? https://www.ctan.org/pkg/tikzducks It even has a connection with TeX and we get this thing to an end after 2 months. Or alternatively removing it at all?
Any news?

Could you reopen the ticket, please? For a clean open source project it is important that all external files have the appropriate licence which should be tracable. As far I understand the situation, many ducks were deleted on commons, because they were a derived work from a non-free duck but the deletion article is not very clear about that. TXS does not attribute the author, license and source of the picture either. If Commons deleted the picture without reason AND the author licensed the picture...
What about the following solution: We could ask on tex.sx, if someone is willing to prepare a tex-code for a yellow duck. We can add the duck plus the source code and attribute the creator. This would even have some connection to tex and the unlucky license problem is solved.
The ticket was closed, but the solution is not clear. Could you write a line, which action was taken, if any?
Thank you for the fast reply. That is interesting. I was not aware of that. What are the plans now? Please bump the version number, if you release a clean version. It would brake our packages else...
Thank you.

confirmed. app-office/texstudio-2.12.4 crashes with app-text/poppler-0.56.0 on gentoo Linux too after compiling a testdocument where this pdf is included. I think these are two different bugs.
Could not reproduce this. The .tex file compiled and the .pdf was visible. I see, that it is very difficult to get a 100% perfect syntax highlighting due to the chaotic syntax of LaTeX. However, isotopes are very common with mhchem and it would be great, if they would not raise warnings.

Thanks to the original poster. The workaround lualatex -interaction=nonstopmode -output-format=dvi %.tex worked here with TeXstudio 2.12.4 and lualatex. It would be nice to have this implemented as standard. Perhaps as an additional option in the list of preview commands (Configure TeXstudio/Preview/Command...).
