Hmm. Thanks always good to learn new things. I believe there have been times when Freeview has used Huffman on some SD channels, possibly ones sharing the same multiplex as HD channels. A different approach that would work then would be to grab all EPG data - which I presume you already do, filter only for Huffman encoded records - whatever channels that might relate to and then import those to WMC. Yeah, I found that one as well. It is a single Tuner although it should be possible to use two of them. They did use to make a twin tuner model but that is discontinued. I will bear it in mind. My ideal solution would be a network tuner.

I currently use a SiliconDust HDHomeRun DVB-T2 tuner and this works great with both EPG Collector and WMC. I would however like to also add a DVB-S2 satellite tuner. What makes this more complex is that the system I am using does not have any PCI slots and I am also still running as mentioned Windows Media Centre. SiliconDust did a few years ago suggest they were going to launch a DVB-S2 tuner but never did. (As an aside they also promised to add DVB subtitle support to their own software and also...

I am currently using EPG Collector with WMC and it is working very well. (Thanks once more for this tool.) If anything it is far more reliable than the Microsoft EPG was - even before they started having deliberate outages as part of the process of weaning people of their product. I used to have a lot more corruptions of the channel/guide data when I was using the Microsoft source and this required periodically doing a full reset. Anyway, moving on to my request. Whilst making WMC reveal the correct data I paid a bit more attention and noticed something. I don't know if it will help you shed any more light but here it it. As mentioned the EPG Collector data is usually present as shown by the fact that for the affected channels merely selecting "Show no listings for this channel" actually does restore the EPG Collector data. I noticed that when the channel has a problem and I edit its listing setting it initially shows that is using the listing for "Quest...

In Windows Media Centre as previously mentioned the problem channels if I edit their 'listings' option will often let me cause the EPG Collector data to reappear by choosing Show no listings. I can also see that for the problem channels no option to use inband source is available because I have deliberately disabled inband for these and some other channels. I can see this option on channels I have not done this for. This confirms to me that inband guide has been disabled on these channels. I use...

As far as I can see I already had this option ticked as per attachment. (The problem occurred again last night to the same set of channels.) Also as far I can see for the affected channels WMC is only showing a single copy. I have seen occasions when a channel is listed multiple times and suspect that is when it picks it up from multiple transmitters.

The above logo collection is originally intended for use with MediaPortal and not WMC but a logo is a logo so this would not be a problem. I updated my post to reflect the good news that the repo I linked to does have a full set in .png format so that issue is resolved. Yes, it is not even showing up anymore in WMC as a choice. I have tried adding a custom name for the channel as well. (And removing such a custom name.) I am now also seeing BBC Two HD running out of data sooner than any other channel, it runs out on Friday this week whereas other channels end in seven days. BBC Two HD is channel number 102. The DVB inband guide data is normally seven days for all channels. The BBC Two HD problem is similar to a previous problem where a bad character in a program...

I am currently having problems with just one channel, this being BBC News HD, channel number 107. No matter what I do or how many times I run EPG Collector 4.3 FP 11 my WMC 7 says 'No Data'. My TV source is UK terrestrial DVB-T2 via a HDHomeRun HDHR4-2DT tuner. For those not in the UK this channel along with all other HD channels has its EPG compressed using huffman encoding - EPG collector reports it as a type 25 channel and these are unlike most SD channels not understood by WMC itself. I am also getting this error. I am using WMC and EPG Collector with a HDHomeRun HDHR4-DT2 i.e. DVB-T2 for receiving UK terrestrial TV. The log is attached. I have seen similar things before and it is often a program with a title with a character in the name giving the EPG tool - in this case EPG Collector indigestion. Hopefully this now has the TS capture for you as well. For the future, is there a particular PID to capture?

I have also experienced this problem and I only have two tuners via a SiliconDust HDHomeRun. Here are some suggestions. Either completely disable opportunistic scanning, i.e. the ability for WMC itself to scan for inband DVB EPG data, or do so for individual channels, i.e disable inband when editing the channels guide settings. I have used EPG Collector in the past manually - typically when Microsoft's EPG feed goes off-line. I am now wanting to use EPG Collector fulltime and obviously it makes sense to schedule this to run automatically. As maybe obvious I can run EPG Collector manually and successfully get guide data, I have also been able to write a bat file which runs my settings also successfully but I cannot get Task Scheduler to run my bat file successfully.
