You mean 7-zip on other platforms? There is a 7-zip on linux eg ubuntu - sometimes not the very latest eg last year's. but fine for most usage. john

When the spec (documents/help file) says the behaviour is something and 7zip is not even close to the behaviour specified then by most peoples assessment that is a bug! I'd say quite a big bug too...

This is quite a big bug for a release (-u option just not working!) so imo it should be fixed asap. Is it a difficult fix? john

Just use diff to remind you (and us) about small changes & list them on release. j

There was a rather unlikely but possible someone pointed out security issue in previous 7-zip - was this fixed- don't see it in bugs list for 17.01 beta. Are there any other bugs fixed that are not mentioned? j

No reply, so does this mean that 'file update' as in unzip -u arc files or arc e -u tmp.arc files does not exist in 7z - seems strange - or did I miss something? I request this feature

Have a very large .gz with a single .tar inside - want to extract the tar only if it is later than one I already have (like unzip u or unzip f). Did I miss something? - surely there is a switch to do this. Help, and all attempts to google 7zip update or 7zip u only discuss 7zip u which updates the archive, so not what I want!
