@Rookiestyle The reason is that using 'Custom list font' changes the font everywhere in KeePass (or almost everywhere), and some of us may want to change to a monospaced font only in the main window's view of the Notes field.

I have been correcting some of my old file:// links to use the correct syntax that you recommended. I have some questions that you might help with: 1 - I used to use place holders with my file:// links before. I tried using the following without success. Is there a way to use place holders, or is it unsupported in the notes field? It works fine in the URL field, though: file:///{APPDIR}/directory/some-file.txt file:///\{APPDIR\}/directory/some-file.txt file:///%7BAPPDIR%7D/directory/some-file.txt...

Fantastic! All I have to do is update my links to use the (new) correct syntax and they work! I cannot believe I did not know about those two RFCs, or that I did not stumble upon the correct syntax while I conducted tests using variations of the syntax. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

I updated KeePass recently, from v2.34 to v2.51.1 and noticed that I am no longer able to click and open local files or folders from the notes field. Examples: file:C:\Documents\file.txt file:\\10.11.40.11\share01$\somefolder file:\\10.11.40.11\share01$\Somefolder\file.doc file:{APPDIR} file:c:/temp/ file:c:\temp\ Now only the beginning of the link is clickable as you can see here: Could someone check and see what happened? I use this feature regularly. Thanks.

Every once in a while I come here to see if there has been any development on this issue. This usually happens when one of my colleagues at work asks me how to change the font of the notes field to monospace. I work in an IT department and was the one who introduced it at work, and now its use is mandatory there. I am here to try and keep this request alive.
