All, This whole thread started because NEdit 5.7 the source code was apparently set for the tabs to 9 point font which is very tiny. In NEdit 5.5 it was 12. Also, in NEdit 5.7 the difference between the active tab and inactive tabs is indistinguishable. In NEdit 5.5 the active tab is bold enough to tell the difference between it and inactive tabs. I just wish the developers would not have changed this. It was good as is and it became degraded in NEdit 5.7. Just my opinion. Jordan From: ericxuo ericxuo@users.sourceforge.net...

The problem that I have is that it works on the command line, but when I try adding these lines to my nedit.rc, it doesn't work. I end up with tiny font and no back or foreground highlighting and very hard to distinguish the active tab from the inactive tab: neditfontList: --helvetica-bold-medium-r---12------iso8859-1 neditXmLFolder.inactiveForeground: #666 I have also tried and doesn't work: neditfontList: helvetica bold medium 12 points neditXmLFolder.inactiveForeground: #666 Jordan From: TK Soh...

I tried to put them in my nedit.rc, but it just seems to ignore them. This is with my fix using Motif 2.3.3: [cid:ff730d93-0707-4f33-80af-05cc0bc8dd8a] Without my fix this is what I get: [cid:46467dd6-d12c-488f-8607-35fd58ccd645] Not only can't I tell which one is highlighted, the font is very small. Here is a potential solution: nc -svrcmd "nedit -xrm 'neditfontList: --helvetica-bold-medium-r---12-----*-iso8859-1' -server" This shows all menu items as bold but it also causes the open tab to be bold (although tabs that start with "m" and possibly others don't look totally bold to me) and the unopened tabs are not bold. Better than nothing. I will keep looking for a another pernaps better solution. Jordan

Hello, I notice that the bold active tab in the Nedit server (nc) is not there in NEdit 5.7 whereas it is bold in Nedit 5.5. This is very handy for quickly identifying the active file beging editted of many tabs. Anyone know how to get the active tab to be bold in NEdit 5.7? Thanks, Jordan Krim
