We have recently deploy SOS-Berlin and we are using YADE to manage file transfers. As we do not want to store credentials in job xml we have decided to use a Credential Store. Looking at Keypass there are three options to control access to the database: Password protected Secure Key Windows Authentication Option 1 is not acceptable as it would require that the password to the keypass database would be stored in the job xml. In fact, because we are running in a Windows environment option 3 would be...

Figured it all out. The key was that the parameters to specify where the user and password come from are not easily found. Now that I did all is working

Hi, I found another KB article that looks to be more inline with what I need though I still have some questions. https://kb.sos-berlin.com/display/PKB/Example+for+YADE+JITL+Job+with+Credential+Store I attempted to follow this article and the job fails - see attached output. I have also included the xml for the job Another question that I have is how does the job know which user to use and then retrieve the credentials from the keystore? Please let me know what I need to do to get this working thank...

I have been reading the KB articles on how to setup a Credential Store and then use it with YADE. We are looking specifically for how to use stored credentials for ftp(s) jobs. https://kb.sos-berlin.com/display/PKB/How+to+set-up+the+Credential+Store https://kb.sos-berlin.com/display/PKB/Using+Credential+Store+to+securely+store+authentication%2C+connection+and+other+parameters I have been able to setup the Credential Store using KeyPass2 and I have modified the jade_settings.ini located in jade\clients\examples...

Andreas, no need to get snippy 😊 – we just realized that on the surface it would be simpler to just create a new database as the job history is not that critical and as long as we don’t lose any job definitions we are okay with that. The segregation of privilege is not unique to SOS, it is the way that our production servers are configured so we don’t want to deviate from that model. We can debate the virtues, but for now, that is the world that I live in. I will look to follow your directions in...

Andreas, we are looking to take the approach of recreating the Database instead of attempting to move it from the old server to the new one. So now that issue is that we are using an Azure Managed SQL server (PaaS) and I am trying to sort out how to created the database and tables. When the sos installer attempts to connect to the SQL server it fails and I believe it is because the installer is unable to authenticate to the SQL Server. My question is can I have the installer run the database creation...

Thank you for the quick response. The good news is that we used an alias aka cname when we setup the test environment so we could actually just point that to the new server. That being said, if all that we would lose by building a new database would be the job history then it may be easier to just start from new.
