I think I've sorted this, but would like confirmation that what I've done is correct. On my phone I've turned on Make available offline and I'm using the Keepass2Android app. When I open the Keepass local DB on the PC I wasn't seeing recent changes made on the phone until after I did a save database. Just create shortcuts to the data file (right click and drag a file to the desktop and then select Create shortcuts here), one for each file.
