GLPI allows to add costs to tickets and has a Budget feature, so the IT department of an Organization can inform it's budget and any cost associated with the ticket can be decreased from the planned budget. This make easier the IT department to determine if the budget is sufficient and being consumed as expected.

The plugin "PDF" from GLPI (https://plugins.glpi-project.org/#/plugin/pdf) allows to export information from different locations (equipment form, helpdesk tickets etc.). It would be great if iTop implements a similar feature to export it's tickets/followups. Some IT shops commonly prints it's ticket status (e.g. when an equipment is being repaired at the IT shop) and sellotape it at the equipment being fixed so any technician that will continue the job will know exactly what was made without having...

For local instances, it's possible to integrate iTop with LDAP (Active Directory) to centralize usernames and passwords. For instances hosted into external webservers, integrating with LDAP becomes quite challenging. GLPI offers the possibility to authenticate external users through mail servers by using the imap_open function from PHP. The admin simply setup the IMAP/POP settings at GLPI interface and during the logon, the mail address and password is queried at the mail server through the imap_open...

It would be great if iTop offers some kind of integration with Gravatar for contacts and user accounts. It just requires creating a img request with the src containing the MD5 of the mail address to the Gravatar servers to render the contact/user account image, if available. I know it isn't simpler as it seems to be to develop it, but I believe it would be a great feature for iTop.

Hello pgoiffon, thank you for your response. It's OK if iTop do not allows me to upgrade iTop if I have modified it's source file and create an extension to deal with the translation work seems a bit troublesoome for me, so I can deal with it as it is now. I opened this ticket because I just figure out that a new iTop version has been released because I read the forums, otherwise mu iTop instance didn't reported that a new version was available and I believe it happened because I have modified files...
