1) VeraCrypt works on disks and volumes, and likely can resume from a different installation. If you don't have access to your previous install, it's WORTH TRYING to see if it works from another install. 2) the developer won't have to pay a cent. You indemnified them when you installed the software.

This is freaking hilarious. You're going to call the cops because of a potential software bug? Oof. But yeah... try being polite and not starting the whole thing off as "YOU HAVE WRONGED ME". Then going and deciding that someone must be a child because... what, they don't jump to help you?
