I was able to test a little today. It was definitely much better, the text still flickers but only slightly and it never fully disappears.

Using just the config for beachhead16, I was able to get beach head 2000 working just fine in Windows 10. I used dgvoodoo to hook the menu exe and DxWnd for beachhead16 exe. However I'm having an issue the ingame UI text. For reference the UI should look like this: However with the unmodified settings above my UI looks like this (see attachment) The "Shield" text displays just fine, with no flickering. I experimented with different settings and found that forcing "Auto Primary Surface Blit" seemed...

So I just got back from vacation, but had some time today try to solve this issue. I used an older version of WineD3D (3.21) and that allowed me to choose higher resolutions. The texture issue was also fixed. The game takes awhile to load (like 2-3 minutes), but works fine after that.

Thanks for your help. I think the issue is probably what dippy mentioned where modern GPUs are handling DirectX textures differently. I tried Enumerate 16 bit modes and Emulate 16bpp D3D8 backbuffer, but it didn't seem to do anything. I was able to get the game working in WineD3D and it did fix the problem, but the only resolution I could choose was 640x480, so not really the best solution unless there is a way to externally force WineD3D into a higher resolution.

I probably should have mentioned my GPU is a NVIDIA RTX 2070. So perhaps its a NVIDIA issue? I made sure that my NVIDIA settings were set to application defaults on USAF.exe. Edit: Also, were you able to run it in a 16bpp video mode? I have a hunch it may fix the texture problem. Regarding the window, I believe setting the window mode to default vs thick frame solved the shifting issue.
