Thanks for explaining.
Hi, In an other thread I read that the file KeePass.XmlSerializers.dll should be present in the Keepass directory. I'm using Keepass portable (latest) for some years now without any problems. I can't remember ever having this file/dll be present in the Keepass directory. What's the purpose/benefit of this file? Is it always needed? TIA, Jack
@Paul, @wellread1, As I see it there are two issues at hand. First the disappearance of "duplicate entry" from the context menu and second, to "correct" this a plugin is needed. Regarding the first, Dominik had its reasons. OK. My question was regarding the second. To bring the option back in the context menu a plugin is needed. In my perspective a plugin is used to add some extra functionality to an application, not to switch on/off existing one. Hence my remark that it would be more logical to...
...is there a reason why these options are not part of the Tools-Options? Seems to make more sense there than via a plugin.
Thanks for the suggestions. Hereditas seems interesting. Has anybody experience with this?
As the topic suggest..... We all get older and at some point in time we leave the here and now for the eternal. In this case I would like to open up all Keepass databases so that my wife/children/grand children can access all important data. Is there a way, like some inverse expiration date, to accomplish that? Some suggestions are welcome on this topic. It doesn't have to be a Keepass solution perse.
Forget it. Issue is resolved.
HI, Just updated to 2.55 (portable). Now at every start of KP this warning is displayed. Should i simply delete keepass.exe.config ?
That proofs i'm getting old. I really thought there were 2 identical string shown.
I was following an other discussion on this forum regarding the key transformations memory. Taking a look at my own settings i noticed that under the "key derivation function" drop-down box there are 2 identical methods listed (Argon2d). Is that correct? If yes, what the difference?

You can find large entries via "Find - Large entries..." and see what items take up the most space. 1 MB is not a big file in general or a kdbx file specifically.
How about File-Export-Keepass CSV?
This whole discussion started in the case that an evil person gained write access and could modify the configuration file to start a (plain text) dump of the database. Í'm no technical/security expert (by far) but doesn't the plugin ability of KeePass pose the same threat?
Reading this thread i was totally convinced that right clicking on an item would show a "properties" entry in the context menu (like the Windows Explorer). Would be a nice feature.
....or use the excellent coloredPassword plugin: https://keepass.info/plugins.html#coloredpw
I used to use KeePass2Android but had constant trouble opening the correct DB (on Onedrive). For some reason it always wanted to open a local obsolete copy. Switched to KeePassDX and never had problems with it, worked as expected. Also, in my opinion, the GUI looks more "mature" and more intuitive.
You're absolutely correct. The behavior is caused by the Coloredpassword plugin (and its options). I just never noticed this behavior before under Win10. After upgrading to Win11 I assumed it had something to do with this. Thanks. Case closed.

Just an observation. I recently upgraded to WIN11 and took my Keepass 2.49 portable "with me". When viewing a group, the passwords are normally hidden (ctrl-H) and show *******. I noticed that when you click on the password it is revealed. After about 10 sec. the ****** appear again. I checked another PC which runs KP 2.45 and WIN10 which (i think) has an identical configuration, its behavior is different. The ******* are always shown, no matter if the password is clicked. Is this a WIN11 thing or...

..or use KeePassDX. I find it user friendlier than Keepaass2android and it supports the new keyfile (https://github.com/Kunzisoft/KeePassDX/releases).
200 kB isn't that big. What kind of saving times are we talking about? My DB is almost 5000 kB and it stores in a few seconds to my onedrive. In the process 2 separate additional sub DB's get generated. So I don't think size is the problem. Did you have a look at the encryption strength of the DB? My $0.02.
Hi Gerry, Suddenly I can on my Iphone xs IOS 14.01. no longer open my password vault. Opening was always automatic with Face ID but not anymore. Now I get the message "Select key file" but I have no idea where it is. When I select a database, this file name turns red. If I then click on open nothing happens ?? Dit forum is voor de (Windows) applicatie KeePass, niet voor een Iphone/IOS app. Het beste advies wat ik je kan geven is om de ontwikkelaar van de betreffende IOS app. te contacteren. This...
Maybe you can describe your system (CPU, RAM, HDD/SSD) a bit. On which drive did you install Keepass?
Hi Rethread, Ultimaltly its up to the developer what he puts in a context menu. Around V2.43 of KP the "entry copy-paste" option resided in the context menu. As Dominik restructered the menus this option is now exiled to the menu bar. For me the contaxt menu is a very handy and logical place for this option (like file copy-paste in the Windows Explorer) . Also it saves a button click in respect to the menu bar.
Hi Dominik, It would be intuitive to put both options also in the context menu. I think the majority of users would expect them there. Schone Feiertage, seasons greetings
Look under Tools-Options; At the top of the tab Security there are options you seek.
Hi Rookiestyle, I think that i look to the plugin from another perspective. I find it helpfull to see if a password fullfils the minimal requirements most websites/logins force upon us (like at least one uppercase, one lowecase, one number and a special character). The password generator of KP also is divided in those categories. So i primarily don't use the plugin for its enhanced readabilty (which BTW is a welcome property) but to easely check those minimal requirements. Hence my suggestion to...

You mean: Entry-Data exchange?
This option moved from the context menu to the main menu under "Entry" - "Data exchange" - "Print entry".

Succes. Installed as 0.10.0.0. Thanks.
Hi Alex, Thanks for your usefull tool. I use it alot. Could it be that the 0.10 version still identifies itself as 0.9.1?
Hi Dominik/Paul, I'm aware of the "Clipboard" option. I use this option to copy entries between DBs. What is not possible with this option is to copy (selected items of) an entry outside of KP. To do this i'm currently using the option "selected Entries -> Print...". After printing to a pdf-printer i copy the selected items to an email or document or whatever. This is a tedious way of working. If there would be an option "selected Entries -> Clipboard" which would function like "selected Entries...
Hi Dominik, Thanks for your quick respons (and great software). When right clicking on an entry i don't see the specific option ("Selected Entries" -> "Clipboard"). Only related options i see are "Print..." and "Export....". I hope this screenshot clarifies. http://i63.tinypic.com/vru4d1.jpg Is this an option which can be turned on? TIA, Jack
Hi, I'm using Keepass for some time now and I love it. My question: In the current version it is possible to select one or more entries and then print(preview) them. Is there also a possibility to "print"(or copy) the same data to the CB? TIA, Jack
