OK I solved it and the development patch seems to import Dashlane JSON pretty good. I'm not sure how but eventually I saw that KeePass was running as a process (it did not show up in task manager when I was trying to start it before), so I found there was a tray icon. That could not do anything because everything gray except "Tray/Untray" which also did nothing. So I killed the task and after that the KeePass started and the Import seems to work. Perhaps I thought keepass was closed when I coppied...

Thanks Dominik but are you sure that's latest? It doesn't run after I patched ver 2.46 (corrected, not 4.26) but I notice if that number is the date then it is Sep 2010... we are in 2020 now *now solved, see new post

but wouldn't it be more reliable to import from Dashlane's json export since it has clear labeling of what is what?

I hope this helps, a sample attached. I tried to make this look like the variety of things I have in my real csv, but not real (names, emails, acct num, passwords, hashes are randomized)

I have KeePass 2.46 and want to import passwords from Dashlane. I exported from Dashlane to a CSV file. Everything claims that KeePass 2 supports import from Dashlane csv but it simply does not. It puts both username and password as lines of the note. Obviously the password is not hidden for anyone seeing my screen, not to mention no Auto Type would work.
