A couple of notes: Producing a "hash collision", i.e. modifying the code but produce the same hash can be done with MD5 and SHA1, which is why they are considered obsolete. SHA256 is considered secure at this point - any code modification will alter the hash. Guarding against a compromise of the SourceForge account, or for critical missions: we can post the correct hash on the GitLab site. That won't help a casual user w/o access to that site, but should in most cases give interested users a way...
It is not quite the same, and SourceForge is way behind the times, they compute only MD5 and SHA1. We'll take a look at our work flow. Hans Kruse, Professor Emeritus J. I'll take a look at it with our team, but I suspect we will close it since we have a way to add compile flags during the configure step. Hans Kruse, Professor Emeritus J. We still need to define the problem better and agree on what requirements we need to for 1. building on CentOS 2. modifying the build system on CentOS Moving to 3.6.3.
Subsystems now building on Windows

Documentation of the build system needed

This ticket has been split: https://sourceforge.net/p/ion-dtn/bugs/130/ for the expat library issue https://sourceforge.net/p/ion-dtn/bugs/129/ for the Automake question
CentOS issue building with --with-expat
Closing based on Leigh's message.
CentOS issue building with --with-expat
Next step: Need to investigate if building on the target machine (CentOS 7) is affected, or only the ability to reconfigure makefile.am
Automake on CentOS
The expat issue is based on a name difference between contributions: Ubuntu/apt uses libexpat1-dev The equivalent package for CentOS/yum is expat-devel.
Bill, what operating system did this error occur on? Is this tcpcl or stcpcl?
I am away from the office until Wednesday, May 23. I will check my e-mail occasionally during that time, but will be slow to respond. Urgent messages should be directed to Julio Arauz, Associate Director for ITS, at arauz@ohio.edu.
