Should be fixed in latest version on https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar/releases
Version 1.6.0 is now available at https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar/releases/
Since the repository here on SourceForge seems to be orphaned, we try to continue developing TuxGuitar on this Github repository, yes.
Julian seems to be no longer active in this repository and did not respond to our request a few months ago. Since the new repository https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar has made a lot of progress and the code is now in a quite consistent state, we decided to release a new "official" version of TuxGuitar: 1.6.0. The changes since version 1.5.6 are: Add click & drag selection Copy/paste and repeat selection Apply actions and effects to selection Fix percussion channel issues in GP importer Improve...
The fork https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar stores the tunings in the file /opt/tuxguitar/share/tunings/tunings.xml. The file already contains ukulele tunings, but you can also add different tunings manually.
Thanks for the patch! I tested it on the fork https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar. It worked quite well, but there are a few problems: - I am currently trying to keep the fork's file format compatible with TuxGuitar 1.5.6. 1.5.6 is not able to open .TG files with the pick strokes. - The fork shows more details about the bending (commit e982d11). This view clashes with the pick strokes. - When I open the .GP4/5 files exported from TuxGuitar with Guitar Pro 6, some strokes are missing. - The Android...
Thanks a lot for the patch! I have added it to my repository at https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar .

Thanks a lot for the patch! I have added it to my repository at https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar. TuxGuitar handles repeats and endings a little differently than Guitar Pro, so it may be necessary to manually change the notation to get the intended behavior, but this is not due to the patch itself.
The binaries on https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar/releases now contain all the Chinese translations from this patch. Thanks for your help!
Thanks a lot for the patch! I have added it to my repository slightly modified. You can download the patched binaries from https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar/releases.
The last SWT version with 32-bit support was 4.9 from 2018 (https://archive.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/). Many Linux distributions have completely discontinued 32-bit support or have dropped the 32-bit SWT version. In practice, it would still be possible to provide 32-bit binaries, but to save resources for more important things, I decided to remove 32-bit support. However, since we are trying to keep the file format of our new version compatible with 1.5.6, you can continue to use Julian's...
Hello Simon, glad to hear you are willing to contribute! As you can see from the discussion above, I "voted" for the 1.x version and created a new repository at https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar. I also try to integrate patches from the 2.0beta version (https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar-2.0beta). Under "Releases" you can find binary packages for both versions. You can also start discussions and open issues for bugs or TODOs. 2.0beta has a lot of GUI improvements, you might want to have a look...
Sorry, have overlooked that. Now I have also added the translations of the plugins. I could not find the following names in the sources, so I did not include them: - action.file-format-batch-converter= - action.guitar-tuner= - action.jack-console= - browser.factory.fs.community-files= - file.new-song.template-1= - file.new-song.template-2= - tools.file-format-batch-converter= - tools.Instrument-tuner= - tools.jack-console-title= Not sure where they come from, maybe from older TuxGuitar versions?
Thanks! Added your translation to my repository https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar If you would like to also translate some other dialogues (for plugins etc.) just search for the files named messages.properties in the TuxGuitar source tree.
Thanks! Added your translation to my repository https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar
Hi Carsten, I also played around with 2.0 some time ago, but recently decided to continue with the latest 1.x version from the Sourceforge SVN. You can find my repositories at https://github.com/helge17/, including binary builds for 1.x and 2.x. A few thoughts on the two versions: 1.x - Julian has made many changes to the 1.x version after the 2.0 fork was made, e.g. he added a version with JavaFX instead of SWT. Maybe it would be better to switch to JavaFX in the long run? I don't know. - I cleaned...
The 2.0beta fork is not very active anymore, it uses a different file format and I was not able to build it for Android. The changes were also never integrated into the 1.x version. So I think it's better to stay with the 1.x version and maybe port some changes from 2.0beta back to 1.x. As far as I can see, all the other TuxGuitar forks are just clones of the SF repository here, so I decided to start a new one.
I started a fork of this repository on Github: https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar The Java code is (almost) unchanged, but I cleaned up the build scripts, removed 32 bit, OSS and other obsolete files. But I think the most important thing for users is to have binary builds ready for installation. You can find them at https://github.com/helge17/tuxguitar/releases Everyone is welcome to send patches and pull requests or to fork the code. I will try to integrate the changes into my repository and sometimes...
Hello Julian, first of all I would like to thank you for your great work over all these years. TuxGuitar is great software that is still loved by many people. Recently the homepage http://www.tuxguitar.com.ar/ disappeared. The forum at https://tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/ and the donation link are no longer functional. There are quite a few patches and forks that are not revised or integrated upstream. Are you still working on TuxGuitar? Is there anything the community can do to support your work? For...
I was hoping that the latest version 3 of libfluidsynth would also fix the bug, but it seems that the deb package really relies on version 2. You can try to manually install libfluidsynth2 from https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/amd64/libfluidsynth2/download, maybe that will help...
Try to install the package libfluidsynth3.
tuxguitar-1.5.6-linux-x86_64.deb from here contains all components in one package, also fluidsynth. So before installing it you should remove all tuxguitar 1.2 packages from Ubuntu, you don't need them.
You should install a newer version of Tuxguitar. Try to install tuxguitar-1.5.6-linux-x86_64.deb from https://sourceforge.net/projects/tuxguitar/files/TuxGuitar/TuxGuitar-1.5.6/ , this should work on Ubuntu.
Seems that you are trying to run TuxGuitar with 64 bit Java (C:\Program Files\Java...). Try to uninstall Java since the installer package already includes 32 bit Java, or try to install a 32 bit Java.
The attached script builds the deb package r1832 on a current Debian 11 64 bit, including the Steinberg SDK. I suppose it works also on Ubuntu. The deb should be a little bit more install- and command-line-friendly as the original.
Please add default-jre to Depends: in DEBIAN/control
Steps to reproduce (GestióIP v3.5.6): 1. Create three root nets: 1.2.0.0/22, 1.2.1.0/24, 1.2.3.0/24 Root net tree is OK: 1.2.0.0/22 -> 1.2.1.0/24 -> 1.2.3.0/24 2. Change bitmask of root net 1.2.0.0/22 to 1.2.0.0/23 Root net tree stays the same: 1.2.0.0/23 -> 1.2.1.0/24 -> 1.2.3.0/24 <- wrong 1.2.3.0/24 is not a subnet of 1.2.0.0/23, so the root net tree should change to: 1.2.0.0/23 -> 1.2.1.0/24 1.2.3.0/24

We are trying to make GestioIP authenticate against two different LDAP directories ldap1 und ldap2. Basically this is done in apache.conf: <AuthnProviderAlias ldap ldap1> # ldap1 conf </AuthnProviderAlias> <AuthnProviderAlias ldap ldap2> # ldap2 conf </AuthnProviderAlias> AuthBasicProvider ldap1 ldap2 Require valid-user This works great when authenticating the users with the LDAP attribute sAMAccountName and creating the users userX, userY etc. in GestioIP. For security reasons we would like to distinguish...

The attached /opt/tuxguitar/tuxguitar.sh lets you create a symlink to e.g. /usr/local/bin/tuxguitar and then start TuxGuitar from the command line like every other program. You can also open a file directly from the command line (e.g. tuxguitar myfile.tg), and some file dialogs now start in your home or working directory, not in /opt/tuxguitar.

To be honest all these OpenSUSE patches are to complicated for me, I am not a programmer. And it seems that they are not necessary, at least on Debian Linux. The script is quite simple, just have a look at it. It only uses more or less up to date software, all available in Debian Buster (currently Testing), no GCJ. I attached an updated version for Tuxguitar trunk r1795.
I was able to open your file 'This is a riff.tg' without any problems with tuxguitar-1.5.2-linux-x86_64.deb (7 Tracks, 42 measures). Also saving it produces exactly the same file.

Problem still exists in version 1.5.2. The patch below removes the additional repeat, but maybe this is more a workaroud than a fix. Tuxguitar and Guitar Pro have different methods to count the repeats: TG asks for the "Number of Repetitions", GP asks how often to play the part ("Play X times"). E.g. to indicate "play that part six times" TG shows "x5" in the score, GP shows "x6". $ diff -u TuxGuitar-gpx/src/org/herac/tuxguitar/io/gpx/GPXDocumentReader.java.orig TuxGuitar-gpx/src/org/herac/tuxguitar/io/gpx/GPXDocumentReader.java...
After a lot of trial 'n' error I was able to build Tuxguitar including the native modules on Debian Buster using the attached bash script. It contains really ugly hacks, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. A lot of depedencies have to be installed, but all are available from the default Debian repositories, no extra software needed. Maybe it helps some of you to contribute to Tuxguitar, it's really great software. And maybe it helps the upstream author to clean up the code a little bit ;-)
