Unfortunately I have to disappoint you. As far as I know there is no way to download image files without a watermark. You may can take a closer look at ticket #26

There is an error in the access control parser. The parser always returns true, even if a book is in copyright. The bug will be fixed in HDH 1.2.4

The "US only" option is obsolete because the program automatically detects which settings are required based on the access restrictions. This means that as soon as a title can only be accessed via US proxies, only those are used. Unfortunately, the number of freely available proxies is very limited, so that there are longer waiting times when there are high numbers of users. In addition, more and more proxy servers are being blocked by hathitrust. I will take another look at the program behavior...

Please update to this version. https://sourceforge.net/projects/hathidownloadhelper/files/ If the error occurs again, you might send me a log file: In case of the error: Select the "Enable debug log" option from the user settings menu. This will create a logfile named "hdh.log" in your default destination folder. Wait for 10 minutes, so that some timeout events are logged. Close HDH and provide the log file to me.

Thank you for the feedback. The cause of this error could be the recent changes on the homepage of hathitrust. I will take a closer look on that. I've created a ticket for this bug: https://sourceforge.net/p/hathidownloadhelper/tickets/37/ As an interim solution, you can simply cancel the download and then restart it. As long as the "resume book download" option is active, the download should then be finished immediately.

Another user reported the same issue under Windows XP. I'm working on the problem and can already report promising progress. But it's the weekend and therefore family time. So I have to ask for a little patience before the next update or a possible beta version comes.

The book example is under "Public Domain in the United States". Therefore a proxy server is required when you are outside the US. It worked for me.... Please make sure that you have activated the option "enable automatic proxy server activation" in the user settings (menu bar -> options -> user settings and here within the book information groupbox). You are welcome! .. and yes, I'm afraid that too. There have been a lot of changes in the last months, e.g. the use of "blob URLs" for the images. Therefore, the next version should be adapted so that the corresponding html tags can be adapted automatically without reinstallation. All you would have to do then would be to leave the automatic update function activated. In the current case, the problem was that the page number could not be determined. Therefore, from the next version, manual entry...

wow...that's great! Tank you for the information. This might result in a new feature for the downloader. Unfortunately, Python is not an option, as the integration as an embedded part of the downloader has proven to be too error-prone when porting to other operating systems. I tried it out with img2pdf. In the end, users would have had to rely on their own Python installation.

Hi, there is a similar ticket: https://sourceforge.net/p/hathidownloadhelper/tickets/26/ Usually the watermark ratio is fixed. That means, even with a higher resolution, the watermarks should not become larger in relation to the image. You can check this with your browser by increasing the zoom of an affected page. A zoom factor of up to 400% is available as standard. In some cases - when only lower resolution material is available. In these cases, the size of the logos is increased for higher resolutions...

Hi, if this happened during the page download you just have to de-select the "enable AutoProxy" check box. if this happened during retrieving book information, please de-select the "use proxy server" checkbox. This will disable the autoproxy module. Please make sure that you are using the latest version of HDH (version 1.2.1). You might also reset the proxy server source list via menu bar -> Tool -> proxy setup ->preferences -> restore default. Confirm with OK. If the error occurs again please enable...

Check here the "enable automatic proxy server action" checkbox and confirm with OK or b) menu bar -> Tools -> proxy setup and check here the "enable automatic Proxy Server activation" checkbox and confirm with OK Please make sure that you are running the latest version of HDH (version 1.2.1) Best regards Martin
