I guess my lack of Perl knowlegde is now braking me up... my OS (Gentoo) doesn't have an up2date version of gscan2pdf available, so I downloaded the v2.0.3 and installed it. When running gscan2pdf, I get the error: Base class package "Gtk3::SimpleList" is empty. (Perhaps you need to 'use' the module which defines that package first, or make that module available in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.24.3/x86_64-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib64/perl5/5.24.3 /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.24.3/x86_64-linux-thread-multi...
Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately I can't connect directly, because my computer and the scanner I wanted to use are on different floors... I wil try out v2.0.3 to see if it resolves the issue.
Hi Jeffrey, sorry to disappoint you, but I have gscan2pdf version 1.8.11 under Gentoo Linux amd64 and I still get the limit exceeded problem. I have multiple printers configured via CUPS that are multi-functionals and can be used to scan too. However, most of these devices are usually not available on the network, since they are off or are on a network to which I am not connected.
