Thanx I have changed mashine - and at first everything worked. Then the dreded -131 java update - and my i7/16GB halted to a near stop. It is AS slow as my 10 yr old macbook pro (that also has the problem) So after -131 both are unusable I have tryen your jre embedden version as vell - it works! It is slow but clearly useable. BUT - my old 17inch 10 yr used to be quicker (with system java) than my new i7 is now with the embedded version. I will use the embedded version now Thank you for your time...

This is quite annoing - I will stop using freeplane - performance since javaupdate makes it impossible. Freemind works perfectly. Do O have to do http://davidcai.github.io/blog/posts/install-multiple-jdk-on-mac/ if I want to continue using f-plane ( and docear)
