I found a way to convert IFC to good formated step files using DWG tools. That works for me.

Hi, we like to import IFC data for our rebar suppliers into Inventor using step. It seems to most logisc way. Inventor has only the ability to export IFC, import is still waiting to happen from the people at Autodesk. Could ifcopenshell help to generate good quality step files? It would be essential that the arrays of rebar definitions are to be respected. If every rebar is made unique part then the translation is doomed to fail. I'm seeing this with most software tools out there (with some exceptions)....

Hi, we want to import IFC rebar into Inventor using step. Could ifcopenshell be used to generate it so that the 'arrays' are respected. If every rebar is made unique the translation fails. Files get too big (8MB turning into 3.8 GB) and it takes way to long. Thanks
