So I have tried to change the line 4421 as you mention: Current: user_filename = MALLOC(strlen(optarg)); By: user_filename = MALLOC(strlen(optarg)+1); And I re-compiled nmon and tested on my own laptop where conditions are met for the issue to appear, no luck. (I tried several times to be sure, reverted to 16g, re-tested ok, reverted to 16h original and observed the issue, made the modification and re-tested with result failure) Looking at this portion...
