Thank you for explaining the problem. Could it be possible to replace the generic "Sending of the message failed." popup with a more user-friendly popup saying "Encryption failed: private key is unavailable [Reload cache and try again] [Cancel]"?

The "pretty slow" operation takes a fraction of a second and the given error message is very generic and hard to understand. Since any other gpg-based software does not work this way, this may be the "intended behavior", but it is hard to believe this is the "expected behavior".
