Hi Alex, I would like to know if it is possible to change the node-id of several tracks, or rather unify their value. Let me explain: I normally prefer to draw my pcb manually to have more control over the layout. So I design separate circuit groups, each with its own ground and its own +5V (e.g.: a preamplifier, an oscillator, a filter, etc.) Now I would like to merge the grounds and +5V between them without having to redraw them again. To do that I need to be able to unify the node-ids by giving...

Solved, sorry :) On 2.10 it's enough one click, on 2.28 it works with double click. I was stuck two days :)))

Hello there, after some year I came back to use Veroroute. I downloaded the last version for windows (32?) on my Windows 10 home 64bit. As in subject I cannot create more then one track because a click on a blank part of the board do not release nodes. I tried an old version (2.10) and this works well. It is possible to have the last version that works on Windows 64 bit? Thanks very much

Hi Alex, your assumptions are all right and your last rows cleared all to me. My error was at point 2: "...So you first left click on the track to select the nodeId to be used for painting..." Thank you again, Domenico

Hi Alex, I I just started using your cad again so I would like to ask you. In a future release, will it be possible to add a feature for manually adding a portion of track? In the same way will be possible to delete only a portion of that track? I'll explain: TUTORIAL 6 I have two resistors connected with two tracks. If I place a pad and connect the pad to a resistor, the existing track disconnects. I need this not to happen. Imagine having 20 components connected to a winding track and having to...

It's very nice. I think that is useful for documentation purposes on web article or printed to use during the component assembly.

Hi Alex as already written in an old post, with Fedora I have the problem that if I close a panel and then open it again, this displays the part of it that is below it instead of displaying the options of the panel itself. This always happens. Today I did some tests and I noticed that not all panels have the same behavior. The Control and Info panels, if closed and reopened, once show the desktop area below them and next time the options inside them. It works like a bistable switch. I hope it can...

The first one, but the main release works well as the first one.

    OK

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi Alex, removing adwaita will remove all graphical environment. This is the bad news. The good news is that reinstalling the graphical environment I now have the correct panel :)

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Alex, there is a way to control which toolkit I have on my linux release? I'vre restarted the pc without improvements

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

    No arrows displayed

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi Alex, the signs probably are not related to vrt file. In the previous veroroute version was ok.

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi Alex, someting wrong... In the attachment the user defined potentiometer. The numbers are not visible because of plus and minus signs. I'm available to test. Thanks

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi Alex, please consider the white boxes in Component Definition Panel: 3 digit plus minus sign. Thanks again, Domenico

    GREAT!!!

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

    This is not compiled :)

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Now it is fine. I think should be fine also with original font size. At least an option could be a user resizable font to adapt to all OS and all Desktop Environments. Nice try, thanks.

Attached you can see all the panels. Please note the Rendering Option panel that in the larger white box I have less problems. Look at the number 67. The 7 is cut just a little.

The highlighted is the space available for the number

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

The screenshot is attached. As you can see the number seems shift to the right. If I cancel the capacitor, the number shift just a little to the left. It's a very strange behaviour.

Hi Alex, I have changed the dimensions to 6 for all fonts but do not have improvements. I've changed the DPI and in this case the size decrease but the alignment to right make disappear the number under the right side of field. I think that the font size is correct and proportionate against the field but the left spacing is too much or the number should be aligned to left. You agree with me? Thank again for your support. Domenico

Hi Alex, veroroute is improving a lot and this makes me very happy, but I still have a problem with Fedora 30. As you can see from the attached snapshot, the numbers are not well aligned in the field dedicated to them and therefore they are cut. Do you think you can improve the visualization regardless of the operating system used? I use the default Fedora parameters. Thank you for your support, Domenico

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

i simply resize the windows using the mouse by dragging the right side of the window. I'm using Fedora 30. Now I've done the same procedure (after a switch off/on) and all work perfect. I suppose a bug of Fedora Xserver :)

Hi Alex, nice to met you again, I was out for work and other things until now. I installed the new version of VeroRoute and started with the new tutorial but I've discovered one bug as on screenshot attached. To reproduce it is simple: open VeroRoute program enlarge the working area click on Help -> Tutorial The tutorial page is blank. This not happen if do not enlarge the working area. This is not a blocking issue. Thanks for your support, Domenico

Normally when i do a circuit board I don't care about routing of tracks but in some situation is needed that some tracks have a fixed path that cannot change during the positioning of next components or moving the last positioned. For example when I put the quartz and the capacitors near the microprocessor or if I need to place the inductances in a particular circuit and into a specific position. But these are stupid examples just to give an example. The question is: is possible in a next release...

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Just to poit out, it's possible rotate separate areas. A test is: drop three components left/center/right select separately the "left" and "right" components with left button click with the right button over the "center" component push the key Z o X to rotate. The two components will rotate around the "center" component :D

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

I have a strange behaviour sometime when I translate o rotate the pcb. Normally the rotation/translation works well sometimes the tracks remain stuck on the original location. I attached the vrt file with two section. The top section works well, the bottom section have this strange behaviour. Perhaps I've done someting wrong. Thankyou greybear

I was just wondering if is possible add two shapes in the meanwhile we wait for the component editor. one is the rectangle modifiable HxL and one is a circle modifiable in radius. This can permit to realize the dimensions of other components. For example Iìm realizing the cards for a rack syntetizer and I need to have the overall dimensions of potentiometers. With tho rectangles an three pads I can group something like that. The circle is good for a potentiometer seen fro the top. What do you think...

You could get ideas from this project http://www.enetsystems.com/~lorenzo/fidocad_win32_src.asp The component editor is the most important feature in this project, i think.

In Windows 10 when I try to maximize the main window with the "square" sign in the upper right corner, nothing happen. In Linux works well.

I was thinking about a "point & zoom" functionality. Click on a point of the board and zoom from that point with the wheel mouse. This for a major release. P.S. I've just discovered that I can do it using CTRL+wheel mouse but the start of zoom is fixed to 0,0 point of the board.

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on discussion General Discussion

Hi , what do you think about a limited step slider magnifier? Just to have a quick look of a the pcb? i.e. -8x -4x -2x 0 +2x +4x +8x

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on ticket #6

Two sides with upper side populated by jumpers is a good help for pcb mode if have the possibility to determine the max number and/or length of jumpers. Gerber also but I think need more effort to accomplish the request of pcb manifacturers. However it is a good evolution.

  • greybear greybear posted a comment on ticket #4

This is a good idea so we all can share ours components layout

Excellent decision. Thank you. Attached you can see the first board just made 5 minutes ago with toner transfer technique (laser printer + glossy paper). I must just refine the edges.

I agree with you but a workaround could be a window height of 700pixel and vertical scroll bar (if it's not too demanding and in a next release). Please don't consider my tickets as mandatory but as suggestion.

    Tool Panel not resizable

Ok, now I understand. Thank you for explanation. Today I was studying your app, better than yesterday and I've realized a little pcb. There are some things not straightforward but I will ask you in the future. What I've seen is that your app is very very cool and can have more audience especially inside the radio hobbist. They use Fidocad software for schematic that is written in java by Falvio Bucci and it save the schematics in a text file. You can find the software on sourceforge. Now if you agree...

Hi there, I found this interesting project today but i have a problem using it: I cannot delete a connection between components without delete at least one component of same node ID. I cannot select only the track for deletion. Can you help me? I'm using it on Fedora 28. Thank you,
