I set up 9608 a few years ago. The phones have 96x1 SIP 7.0.0 firmware. You need a WEB server to get the phones set up. The phone searches for a file 96x1Supgrade and after the configuration file 46xxsettings. A web server must be registered on the phone. 9608 does not work on UDP, and only TCP or TLS. And these phones don't always work well with Asterisk and sometimes lose registration and need to be rebooted I attached the archive with the firmware that I have installed and there these settings...
