    Dear Ed F.,

We are a group of students from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. We are interested in usability evaluation of FreeMind in order to find aspects to improve in the application.

The FreeMind project administrator knows our proposal.

We need FreeMind's users to evaluate usability. We would like to know if you want to participate in the usability evaluation.

    Best regards,
    John

    Dear John.

Unfortunately I am not currently using your mind mapping software. I found it a bit cumbersome to work with. Perhaps you have updated it so that it is a bit more user friendly. Please let me know if that is the case, I can download and see how it works for me this time and see if there are changes that will make my experience a bit less complicated.

Please respond to this email with a link to download, and I will try it again.

    Ed

    Dear Ed F.,

Continuing with the usability evaluation, we are planning to make a direct observation using FreeMind and a short interview. The duration of these activities is about 30 or 40 minutes.

The tools required to perform these two activities are:

TeamViewer sharing the screen of your computer to observe your interaction with FreeMind. We will use skype to interact.

The direct observation day we will send you the description of the task that you must carry out. This description is composed of a series of steps that must be performed with FreeMind. The goal is not to evaluate the speed doing the task, the goal is to evaluate the usability of FreeMind.

The schedule available for this usability evaluation are as follows (time Madrid - Spain):

Week from 2 to 6 December
    - Monday, 2 December: from 16:00 to 20:00
    - Tuesday, 3 December: from 16:00 to 20:00
    - Thursday 5 December: from 16:00 to 20:00
    - Friday 6 December: from 16:00 to 20:00

This schedule is the same for the week of 9 to 13 December.

Can you please indicate date and time you can perform such activities.

    Best Regards,
    John

    Dear Ed F.,

    Happy New Year!!

We continue this year with the observations. These observations are important because they help us improve FreeMind.

The observation day we will send you the description of the task that you must carry out. The goal is not to evaluate the speed doing the task, the goal is to evaluate the usability of FreeMind.

We encourage you to participate in the observations. We remember that the observation takes about 30 to 40 minutes.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

    Best Regards,
    John
