Sorry i just tested number 3 above, i created a 500gb encrypted volume on an empty 2tb Hdd using a very strong password, i mounted it, placed 1gb of files inside, unmounted the volume. I opened EaseUS Date Recovery Pro and did a full recovery of that drive, and the recovery detected the encrypted volume as a 500gb FILE not a folder, so i started the recovery process, and it has just completed recovering that encrypted volume to another hard drive that i selected. Hi everyone, i was using VeraCrypt for several months last year but i stopped using it as it was kind of confusing me, however i have decided to try using it again, but i need to ask a couple of questions if i can. which Encryption Algorithm should i select to encrypt a 500gb volume on a 2tb hard drive, not sure which one i used to use. can a volume or Disk that has been encrypted using VeraCrypt be mounted using a different Encryption software, or can it be accessed by any other means except to...

Hi, i never gave it a thought to use my EaseUS Data Recovery Pro software to try and recover files on that encrypted portable drive, so i will try it tonight and let you know how it went. Cheers Edit, this is crazy, i copied 4 simple Word Doc files to that Brand New never used portable drive and so far it has located 271 files with a total size of 548gb. Hi everyone, recently bagan using VeraCrypt Free edition, although i will be donating to this software soon. I am curious about something and just wanted to run this by your people. I encrypted a 2tb external portable Hdd, the complete volume, and i have placed 500gb of personal data onto that drive with the hope that nobody will ever gain access to that data. Prior to adding those files to the drive they were all placed into various folders, any folder that did not require added security were placed...
