Thanks Stephan, Exactly, in fact I was able to use my webcam in a video call. Just pidgin seems to pick whatever is first in the V4L2 devices. In the Voice / Video Settings plugins I can select Video4Linux but then the dropdown for cameras is empty. This thing was working in previous Pidgin version so I need to dig it up.
Finally it works ;-) Had to recompile Farstream because I was compiling an old version from github (whereas the offical repo is on Gitlab now). Also I was missing pulseaudio-libs-devel and GStreamer was dropping all the pulseaudio modules. The last annoying thing now is that I cannot choose my camera (but I guess it is more like a pidgin issue rather that this awesome SIPE plugin).
Thanks Stefan, I will try to recompile Farstream as well, no worries... If it still does not work I will see how to enter a bug report.
Hi guys, Thanks, SIPE is amazing. We are using it to chat with other Windows / Skype for business users. The chat works perfectly but I would like to make video calls now and it seems more problematic. I am running on CentOS 7 and I just recompiled pidgin 2.14 + sipe 1.24.0 plugin myself (because the distribution package does not have support for video) I can connect and chat, no problems The audio calls seem to go through although it did not pick my microphone (pulseaudio option does not show anymore...
