I ran also into this problem and I think David states correctly, it seems sdcc delivers a file with dos-style line endings therefor I guess its not a problem in sdas Or, its how you see it sdar can't cope with dos style line endings or sdcc should not deliver files with dos style line endings..

I experience the exact same problem when building a lib for the stm8 controller. When adding the --debug I get that error while creating a release build it works like a charm. Can't debug my libs.. :-( Looks like same bug @benshi?

return statement should be a cast to uint16_t but this does not matter for the bug report..
