This project on sourceforge is called CDE or common desktop environment. The issue is that there are hardcoded paths and they need to be changed. https://sourceforge.net/p/cdesktopenv/tickets/60/ This ticket describes the three paths in question and in the text file included, I used grep to find any traces of those three paths from the git source. What is the current status of Common Desktop Environment? What this project truly needs right now are precompiled binaries and packages for distros like debian, slackware, fedora, and others so more people can use CDE. Can precompiled binaries be created for download now? What needs to be done if it truly isn't ready yet for mass distribution?
