Hi, I'm sorry if I mentioned IBM and Regina was developed 100% free from their code. I'm also not a lawyer and I do not really want to argue about LGPG static linking or how the military use LGPL components. I'm just the one that codes here. It would be nice hearing Anders' opinion on this, but if LGPL is mandatory for Regina fortunately ooRexx is an alternative. Thanks

Hi guys, evaluating Regina and ooRexx My application cannot use dlls for security reasons then I cannot consider Regina and its LGPL license; ooRexx has no problem on this field. Have you ever consider releasing Regina on a less restrictive license like MIT or similar to ooRexx's allowing free use, no need to release sources, and static linking? Thanks.

Unfortunately Microsoft makes things complicated. without login/register you can select i.e. Surface Pro X, with i.e SN 0255}{2340}{3853 (just a number removing the curly braces). In this particular case I cannot even open the SWM files, If you fix things and you are able to open them please check i.e file sizes, I saw in other recovery set where the swm can be open lot of files with size=0, or install2/3.swm with no more than content flagged as "erased"; weird stuff. It looks like your parser gets...

Sure a false positive but VirusTotal/SecureAge APEX complains about 7z19.00-zstd-x64.exe and the exes it contains... It would be awesome adding those codecs to 7z main distro w/o VirusTotal complains.

I have added to my 7zip 19.2 Alpha the codecs in C:\Program Files\7-Zip\Codecs\ then I run >7z i and correctly detects 6 ED 4F71101 ZSTD but >7z t squshfs.img still produces Can not open the file as archive Not implemented Can't open as archive: 1 Files: 0 Size: 0 Compressed: 0 any idea?

Igor's product is awesome but the whole thing is a single man band. I wish Igor could upload the codebase to i.e. Github and the comunity being able to send "Pull requests" and finally having more people contributing to Igor's effort. I'm also waiting for a patch https://sourceforge.net/p/sevenzip/discussion/45798/thread/bf256795f7/ but the new version is not released. This post should not be considered a complain; it is just the wish of getting things done in a more efficient maner. Thanks.

1) I can confirm the file uploaded by @Shell is the 7zipped version of initrd mentioned on my first post 2) About 4 being a variant of squashfs it could be but the filesystem.squashfs next to initrdon the same ISO can be perfectly opened by 7z.

I agree 100%,and despite adding only XPRESS the created WIM files (AFAIK) would be also compatible with modern MS WIM tools. You could add XPRESS and probably just the empty "interface" for the rest of compressors like LZX or LZMS; surelly having that part done Eric (wimlib) would have no problem adding his well known code.

WIM format is awesome dealing with file redundancy but unfortunately the 7z implementation of it does not include any type of compression. On the other hand 7z native format compress very well but AFAIK it does not handle file redundancy as WIM does. I think the basic XPRESS compression could be easily added to 7z WIM format, I personally do not care about the ultimate compression here, as Paul I’d like to basically compress somehow redundant directory structures and for that 7z WIM (with compression)...
