So, today I had the problem again that it started in full screen, though last night it worked (and I only hibernated since then). I restarted, and it still didn't work. Then, I ran the config from Steam, reset everything, closed it out via X'ing out the window (didn't click apply and close or whatever, which runs the game). Then I ran the game from DXWnd, and it worked! I can't exactly test it right now since I don't reliably know when it will stop working, but that might be the workaround?
Update: never mind. I restarted again and now it works...not sure what I did but I'll take it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I'm trying to play Divine Divinity (2002) on Steam, and am using DXWnd to play it in windowed mode. I was also using a mod, but did not seem to have any interference there, everything was working. But I had to uninstall the mod due to a bug and reinstalled all the vanilla game files (and of course re-added the game)...and now it's just launching in standard full screen again :( I've got it set to admin and other compatibility flags are cleared. Any other ideas how to fix?
