Didn't realize you had already reconfigured, was just curious if simply removing the -Z would resolve the channel issue. I don't have any further ideas regarding 2021 data either :(

Firstly, glad to hear it's working without the zip. Appears to me that zap2it was having an issue remembering zips as I had to input my zip and choose 'local OTA broadcasts' each time I logged on to the web site. That's not happening today, so they apparently resolved this issue. I removed the -Z option from my command line and it looks to be working as it had previously. My WMC populated with the full 14 Days from that D/L, so I'm not seeing your new issue. I am however running FP 28, so there may...

Sorry to hear that. Adding the -Z just fixed it for me. Sound like you may be getting different data on your download somehow. You may want to hold off on re-doing your scheduled series as getting the correct data should resolve that issue, I would think. When you log on to zap2it via a browser, is the data displayed correct? Using the same zip as you added to the command?

Add '-Z your_zip' to the zap2xml command. Was having same issue and this resolved it for me. Found the solution here : https://forums.plex.tv/t/xmltv-guide-no-longer-updating/667049

Steve, Just DL'd your most recent EPGC install above and ran it with my original settings ('run standard tasks' and local time zone) - no issues to report :) Guide behaving itself and no mcupdate crashes... Thanks for jumping on this and getting it resolved so quickly.

Not sure how WMC does/would handle it, but maybe if its <0 (i.e. negative) just make the duration 0?? Then only the offending entries are affected? Or maybe only do the offset fix if the offsets differ? Bah, if the offsets are the same, the formula will equal zero anyway - so not the best input from me :)

Additional note, if I go into the guide in WMC and advance to the Nov1 1AM area, the guide gets glitchy- sporadically showing no data for some channels through the entire schedule, but resolves when I close and reopen the guide within WMC. And just like the zap2it web site, it has 12:30AM-1AM-1:30AM-1AM-1:30AM-2AM (reflecting the 1hr gain from DST).

Nov 1st you say? Then likely a glitch having to do with the handling of "daylight saving time." Conflicting timestamps or the like? This lines up with Friday's DL working here then Mon's DL causing the issue, which included Nov 1st. Bet I wouldn't have seen any issue at all if my DL was Tue or Wed instead of Monday - in fact, my currently working 14-Day DL is from Wed the 21st. Wish I still had Monday's xml or mxf to take a look at, alas they have been overwritten. Maybe Carl still has his? I am...

Carl - I also noticed a 'loop' of sorts, the task scheduler's 'PvrRecoveryTask' appeared to run over and over again continuously... I adjusted the task to stop it from doing that - but that appears to be the reason for my 'recording' difficulties (and maybe even the mcupdate crashes?). After setting it back to original config, it 'looped' for a while, but then eventually stopped on its own, and I was able to set recordings again. BTW, this is what sent me down the rabbit hole in the first place (along...

Hey Steve, Having the same issue here. WMC also immediatly crashes if I try to record, add scheduled recording, or cancel a scheduled recording. I did a complete ehome folder wipe and WMC reinstall, and the issue remains. Oh, and it started immediatly after an EPGC run. My guess is there is some malformed data in the zap2xml download... Anyway, I just wanted to provide some additional data from my side.

Worked like a champ, 'mcGlidHost.exe' had to be terminated as it had the DB 'open' - not even sure why that is running as it's the "WMC in-band guide loader" and that should be disabled, but I also had to kill it about half the time when I've manually deleted the DB. Anyway, it all looks good and I saw 'Total generic programmes created = 277' in the EPGC output so am hopeful that resolves the old data issue going forward. One happy note, it seems my series recordings made it through the "purge and...

Great, I installed and saw the clear guide option. Currently in the middle of nightly recording, so I will have to clear it tomorrow and go from there, then report back here. Thanks again Steve.

The issue seems to have resurfaced. I saw that FP25 was released and I installed and ran it once this morning after I saw the issue, but guide appears unchanged. I also noticed that the FP25 run didn't have the 'Changing episode reference' entries in the log, and the "Imported Programme Updates.log" wasn't touched at all. Did I miss a switch somewhere? This time I am seeing one programme, "Late Night With Seth Meyers" showing generic data and tagged as 'repeat' in WMC guide. Zap2it file has correct...

It installed. Thanks for the update :)

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Wanted to jump back in here as this sounds like an even further improvement. Just to be clear, this latest version you posted above also clears the 'default date' if a later Zap2it file's listing info has been updated with the 'new' tag. I believe that would mean I can skip the first run that I was doing - which was only to strip out the 'default date' so that the 2nd run could add it back based on "updated" info. Is that correct? Do you recommend I update to this version?

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Did a new 'dual' run just now and all looks good, great in fact! No issues whatsoever that I can see. I plan on sticking with the version you uploaded for me ('if it aint't broke...'). I am curious if those changes will be included in the next 'release' version of EPGC? I may need to update at some point in the future :) Thanks again for working so diligently to get this resolved.

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

This is looking really good. Installed latest EPGC with provided MSI. I did have to add back the channels after the first run (on the same XML I had already run and that I previously provided you), but ran it again and didn't lose the channels. I'll let you know if it re-occurs in subsequent XML DL's, but I'm sure you got it sorted. I might still need to run it twice --- once to clear the 'previously shown 1/1/1970', then again with it ticked so that WMC can identify the actual repeats (due to zap2it...

Thanks for the new install. Will get it going tomorrow. My DB is here : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GXANw2ML2phSCB7_ozjevLmVZNlQ8nzG/view?usp=sharing - no updates since I uploaded 'EPG Collector Files_5.zip'... Would it help if I re-ran that last XML in order to see if it removes my channels again?

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Thanks for all your work toward getting this resolved. No idea why my channels are being removed and yours are not considering same DB, definitely weird - and also hadn't happened previously unless I had done a WMC 'reset', but then as expected I would have to actually manually add them back (or let WMC scan 100+ when I only want 7)... You had mentioned "the default date isn't cleared in the verson you have if the option is unticked." - does it get cleared in other versions? FP23? Too bad that entry...

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Here is my next Zap2it file. Channels were removed from WMC again, restored default and re-associated listings - would have thought that would also effect my scheduled recordings, but quite happy that it doesn't...

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Do you want me to generate a new one? I uploaded my last one in the file 'EPG Collector files2.zip' a couple of days ago.

I can untick that 'empty previously shown default date' option, but that had previously solved an issue where WMC wasn't correctly tagging repeats. I don't get details on my XML D/L's (no -D option for least impact). For example Blue Bloods 9PM 4/17 would be scheduled to record w/o that option ticked. I unticked it and ran a collection on the last XML I uploaded (4/14), the default dates are still listed in WMC. Also, I had to restore channels and re-associate listings again... Could that have anything...

I ran the XML's in order, and now I can see the updated details. That's amazing that you sorted that out so efficiently :) I did have to restore my channels and re-assign the listings in WMC again - not sure what's going on there. Did you have to do that too? I do see another issue, some of the shows are actually new, but are tagged with the previously shown '1/1/1970', even though they are also correctly annotated 'New'. WMC flags these as repeats. The prior XML should have had some data for Kimmel as well (Jack Black on the 13th, Bateman on the 14th, and Stephanopoulos on the 15th). The most recent XML should also have 'George Stephanopoulos' on the 14th (today), along with the two you mentioned. You can see how those shows can rearrange their linups even in the middle of the week.

Thanks for working on this, unfortunately I didn't see any difference in those listings... Tried to keep detailed notes for you, here is the blow by blow: Installed provided MSI - indicated success. (I usually use the ZIP). Shows 'FP 24'. First run, LoadXMF crashed, exit code 11 (I believe) - this happens every once in a while, it usually works when I run it again. After 2nd run (exit code=0) , WMC reported "NO CHANNELS - The channels have been removed from the Guide. Select Edit to add channels...

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Happy to hear :) Just checked and the data looks to be mostly updated for next week, so I went ahead and grabbed an XML, please let me know if you want the one from Sunday as well.

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

OK, will hold off on WMC reset. I'll get you a new XML file whenever you like, just let me know. Sunday is typically when those talk shows get their details populated. I was thinking overload or limit because I can edit the XML subtitle&desc on other shows before running EPGC and they get updated with the new info. But if I am understanding you correctly, that's probably because the suffix doesn't change on those shows. Maybe WMC gives precedent to the lower suffix?

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Thanks for the update and the additional info. I saw the SH and EP in the XML, but not in the MXF so I assume it doesn't make it into the WMC DB. Is the program you use to view the WMC DB something I can get myself? Just so you have the info, those shows did get updated when MS was still providing it's EPG (at least when it was running properly/smoothly). Maybe my daily update is somehow overloading the WMC DB, i.e. an entry can only be updated a limited number of times or something similar? What...

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Wasn't tracking that, so not really sure... I guess it could be as long as 13 days if the initial entry came from a 14_day xml that ended on a Monday, and the new data wasn't available until that Sunday (one day before). On the short side I would estimate 8-9 days.

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

Thanks for the auto map info. I likely turned it off in my failed attempt to get a 2nd set of listings into WMC to see if I could select the one with the updated info as a workaround. Not sure if it is relevant, but I add/added those channels to WMC manually. I only mention it as you initially said you saw something odd regarding channel matching.

  • Guy M Guy M posted a comment on discussion Help

You are correct, those late night talk shows usually only get details the Sunday before --- prior to then it looks like what you see in next weeks data for those shows in the XML, i.e. generic. I see those SH and EP prefixes in the XML, but not in the MXF. Maybe I'm just missing them. Do they make it into WMC? If that's the case, I wonder if one prefix somehow has precedence as far as WMC is concerned? I did see some different odd behavior with those shows previously (in addition to them not always...

First off, thank you for all of your work on EPGC, it is appreciated. Hope you and yours are doing well. My issue : Win 7 WMC and FP 23... Both the source xml file, and EPGC tvguide.mxf file appear to be accurate, but the guide data for some shows does not appear to get updated in WMC. Even weirder, I can manually add to the desc(s) on other shows on the same channel, and that new data gets updated in the WMC guide after an EPGC run. Right now my guide shows all repeats, no subtitle, and a generic...
