I risked today to switch from jTDS to the Microsoft MSSQL JDBC driver. It was no problem with the comparison found on this site: Transitioning from jTDS to Microsoft's JDBC driver. Part of the downloaded ZIP file from here is a useful set of example code. The switch was afterwards not very complicated.
When I open a perl file I can see the content but I don't see name of the filename in the tab and I also cannot launch the perl script like in Eclipse Neon. So for me it looks like the plugin is not ready for Oxygen.

The update was now possible. So the update has been fixed obviously.
I cannot update to the latest testing version 0.7.3 as I get the following error message in Eclipse: An error occurred while collecting items to be installed session context was:(profile=epp.package.jee, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
