I have tried running Tools on another device, failed immediately. I have tried re-splitting files that worked previously, these also failed. I have tried running files thru an MP4=>MP4 converter to clean any coder issues, then attempted the re-split. No joy there either. Not going to bother attempting to install Tools on my Ubuntu platform if it's not going to run.
More than one user with similar issues? Doesn't completely rule out h/w but makes it a lot less likely. Are there older versions available that maybe still work?
I am trying to get more mileage from my workstation by switching to Ubuntu. I see that there are source files for Linux - which I have downloaded - but am now at an impasse. My limited experience with command line O/S is Solaris from many years ago. Is there a reasonably straight-forward approach to installing these amazing tools on an Ubuntu platform? Any pointers, suggestions or hints would be appreciated. Thanx!
I have been experiencing this myself, assumed it was my (aging) hardware. When attempting to split files over 4-5Gb the Splitter will show a brief pinwheel then vanish. Until recently the upper limit was 7-8Gb. I suspected my NVIDIA card was beginning to show its age until I saw this. I should get a new GPU anyway.
