Hello, Are there plans to allow for an easy install on Ubuntu 22.04? Currently, running from the command line "sudo apt install scidavis" returns with "Package scidavis is not available...." The scidavis PPA does not include a 22.04 package. Thanks, Richard

Thanks, Russell! On Ubuntu 19.04, the package installs and works beautifully: color graphs and text labels are saved properly. For other Linux users reading this: if you used apt-get originally to install SciDavis 1.25, besure to remove the non-beta SciDavis 1.25 (sudo apt remove scidavis) before using apt-get to install the beta version (sudo apt install scidavis-beta). Otherewise, you'll receive file overwrite errors. Richard

Hi Russell, That's great news! When I say "important patches," I guess I mean that they're really important to me: one allows for saving color graphs, the other allows for saving text labels that include the word "marginal." As an economics teacher, I need both of these for SciDavis to be useful for me. Patch 1 is at https://sourceforge.net/p/scidavis/scidavis-bugs/380/ Patch 2 is at https://sourceforge.net/p/scidavis/scidavis-bugs/381/ By the way, I've been experimenting with Gnu Octave to generate...

Hi folks, Would it be possible to post compiled .deb binaries for Ubuntu/Debian for SciDavis version 1.25 or greater? The currently posted versions (pre-patch 1.25) do not include the important patches that fix the bug about saving/printing colored graphs. It seems a shame to have a super program like SciDavis available, but for it to be crippled by lack of suport for color, especially when the patches have been posted. I've tried for hours to compile a patched version of 1.25 (and 2.02) on my freshly...

Hi again Russell, I've tried to compile version 1.25 (instead of 2.02) with the patches to make it fully functional, but I still can't compile it on Ubuntu 19.04. As it turns out, libqwtplot3d-qt4.so is not installed on my system, although I have installed libqwtplot3d-qt4-dev. Could there be a problem with this package installing fully on Ubuntu 19.04? (I know that you've posted binaries for 1.25, but that unpatched version won't save or print color graphs or graphs with some keywords, like "marginal",...

Hi again Russell, I've switched computers and am trying again to compile SciDavis 2, downloaded from github. (I downloaded the zip file from SciDavis's home page on github.) I think I've installed the correct dependencies as I did in April, but I'm receiving the following errors when compiling. The errors are subltly different from the errors I experienced back in April. Notice that that "cannot access" paths include asterisks. In April they did not. I've checked that the files exist. For example,...
