Sorry, there are korrekt FIDE-ID with 7 digits. But the FIDE-ID 1121499 is not in the FIDE-Database.

  • Frank Eschenauer Frank Eschenauer posted a comment on ticket #263

The FIDE-ID 1121499 is not korrekt! The number sequence has only 7 digits. The FIDE ID has at least 8 but also 9 digits. Iwulski, Krzysztof = 41816846 There ist no Bulski, Krzysztof in the FIDE-Database!

Hello Aritra, Coloured markings set by Chessbase or in Chessbase in a pgn file have not been a problem at all in Scid. Since SCID version 5.1.0, released on 18.03.2025 at ‘https://dev.azure.com/beninifulvio/beninifulvio/_build/results?buildId=1123&view=results’, all 6 colours used in Chessbase are now also displayed correctly. From ChessBase to Scid was never a problem because Scid can display all arrows. Conversely, it was a problem, coloured markings set in SCID were entered in Scid's own code,...

It would be nice if you could choose between the two syntax variants in SCID 5.1.0 or change the default syntax. By default, Scid uses the following syntax: [%draw full,c4,red] = field marking in red [%draw arrow,d3,e4,green] = Preil in green ChessBase uses the following syntax, which Scid can also process and display: [%csl Re5] = field marking in red [%cal Gf3e5] = Arrow in green It would be a great function for SCID to be able to choose between the two syntax variants so that games that have been...

Hello, I don't think that's what aritra meant. In the versions before 5.0 you could select the colour in the comment window by clicking on it and then draw arrows in this colour. See the following screenshot of version 4.8.0 I also miss this function in version 5.1.0! In version 5.1.0 you can currently only draw green arrows and green field markers and then have to change the colour manually in the comment window. Very inconvenient. Everything you used to be able to do with one or more clicks now...

Hi Uwe The pull request works, I have added the two colors in the “set color” area and in “variable CBcolor”. All 6 ChessBase colors are now displayed. Thank you. There is no color LR or Light Red in ChessBase. Am 15.03.25 um 16:50 schrieb Uwe: Hi Frank, I upload a pull request https://github.com/benini/scid/pull/204 for this feature. You can easily add this two lines in your board.tcl file. Meanwhile Chessbase also uses "LR" for light red. I don't think SCID should implement this. It's also a Scid problem because Scid is the only program to insert this tag [replace_game "0"] or [replace_game "1"] or [replace_game "2"] into a pgn database when you make changes to a game to save it in the same game (replace game). Therefore, the display and compression problems is a homegrown problem of Scid.

I have understood the challenge with the unclean PGN files and that Scid reads these unclean PGN files with an error message. I also understood that you can save the PGN files cleanly under or via Windows so that Scid reads them without an error message. However, you can also read in the unclean PGN files via Scid with an error message and clean them up in Scid. The problem is that Scid 5.0.2 has a bug under Linux. This is a GUI bug that has a negative effect on the database cleanup. The Game List...

I can now describe the error more precisely! Saving the PGN via Windows Notepad without BOM is not necessary. Under Linux, the PGN database can be entered into an si5 database (with error message). The usual error message appears and the 1st batch is empty. Now you delete this empty batch and compress the database and everything is fine, if it wasn't for this error under Linux that prompted me to write this post. If the game list window has an "unequal" size, I can't name it in cm or percent, then...

Hello Elo, I do not use Windows and work with Linux (Kubuntu 23.10). The notepad text program there can save the following encodings. 1. ANSI Latin 1 2. unicode (UTF-16) 3. unicode (UTF-16 Big Endian) 4. unicode (UTF-8) However, this is not the actual problem, as I wrote in my second reply post. No matter if I can load the PGN cleanly or clean it up, under Scid 5.0.2 the first or the last game is missing in the Game List Window! Best regards Frank

I imported the same PGN database with Scid 4.8.0 and got the error message for game 1 again. Here also 46 games are read in instead of the 45 actual games, but all 45 games plus the one empty game are displayed in the game list window. If you delete the empty game and compile the database (in this case si4) you get a clean si4 database with 45 correctly numbered games. No error message when reloading the database and all, really all 45 games are displayed in the game list window and are clickable....
