I'd like to amend my feature request to just include the Master Password prompt text field. I can see that Keepass already supports CTRL-BACKSPACE in the search box, the user name box, and the Notes memo field (and probably more places), so it is clearly supported in some places. If you could just amend the Master Password prompt to clear the field when CTRL-BACKSPACE is hit, it would make it a lot easier for us every time we make a mistake when trying to unlock the database. Thanks in advance, Dominik....

I'm surprised to hear that; even the Run box, the search box in Windows Explorer and Notepad support this. That's a bummer. Thanks for responding anyway, Dominik; I hope it can be implemented some day if you find the time. Keepass is a great tool. :-)

I'm sorry, I think I expressed myself poorly. I did not mean to suggest that CTRL-BACKSPACE should delete only a "word" in this context, which would reveal any spaces - the entire field should simply be cleared. Surely it would be possible to clear the field completely on CTRL-BACKSPACE?

Enable standard shortcut CTRL-BACKSPACE in password fields

Whoops, perhaps should have chosen 2.x as milestone? At any rate, that's the version I'm on.

Make CTRL-H work consistently in Edit Entry window as well

The plugin doesn't sound helpful in my particular case (especially since I'd need to use the mouse to reveal just one field, and I'm looking to use only the keyboard), but thanks for the suggestion. Risking an edit is not a worry, as I always close the window immediately after with the ESC key, and would reject any prompt to save the changes. I also lock the entire tool as soon as I've checked the password. SHIFT+HOME is a standard, but so is CTRL+BACKSPACE, and it is also quicker to hit (at least...

I realize that not all people use the tool the way I do, but my requests would not inconvenience other users, whereas the current state of affairs does inconvenience me....

Thanks for your feedback, Paul. However: Often I use Keepass for password lookup only. Passwords that need to be entered on a completely separate device, for example. For these, I'd like to view the particular password briefly, and only that single one. I'm aware of that combination, but it only selects the field. You still have to hit DEL or BACKSPACE after that, and now we're up to two separate keypresses to simply clear a field. Also, I'm in the habit of using CTRL+BACKSPACE first before I can...

Hi, I love this application and have used it for a long time, but there are two minor things that frustrate me a little almost every day: I can't show/hide the password of an entry using a keyboard shortcut once I've opened the entry. There's a toggle shortcut for showing ALL passwords in the listview, but could we maybe have the same CTRL+H shortcut do the same when a single password window is opened and has focus? I have a long master password and occasionally mistype parts of it. It would be nice...

Thank you both for the suggestions! I used fritzophrenic's suggestion, nice to keep things in-app without add-ins. Worked a charm!

I'd like to revive this wish. I don't see why it needs to become complicated. For example, instead of linking the various accounts, all you'd need to do is select the individual entries (multi-select is already possible), and then have a command available in the context and account menus called "Set password..." It would then pop up a prompt, and allow you to update the password for all the selected accounts in one go. It's a bit frustrating to have to manually open every single account and update...
