To avoid this issue, I start the program with a shortcut that executes this: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /k "cd /d %LOCALAPPDATA%\slions.net\VirtualDesktop\assemblies & del /Q * & cd /d C:\Users\User\VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher_v4.0.2.4\ & start VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher.exe & exit" I also had a Win10 configuration that I migrated over to the new Win11 version. Mine is custom with a 4x2 grid and associated icons. I don't know if any of this might cause issues with the "assemblies" files though.
Linux ain't perfect, but at least it respects its users! Windows updates and sleeping issues are frankly a shame. At least with VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher I can now organize my stuff and work efficiently! I don't know TotalSpace, but I was personally very fond of how the unity DE used to handle workspaces. Nowadays Gnome can do something similar but you need plugins to be actually nice. Anyways, thanks for the support and fixes. It might be worth mentionning the files to delete in case of issues...
**EDIT: ** I HAD TO DELETE ALL FILES IN %LOCALAPPDATA%\slions.net\VirtualDesktop\assemblies AGAIN AND IT FIXED IT! Previous coment kept for information. Turns out I edited the settings correctly! I am in Windows 11 26100.2605, using 4.0.2.4 from your GitHub. Do you have an example/snippet of VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher.Settings displaying how to set the Timer Pulling Interval option? I tried adding <TimerEnabled>true</TimerEnabled> <IntervalMs>1000</IntervalMs> to the SettingsValues section, but it...
I am in Windows 11 26100.2605, using 4.0.2.4 from your GitHub. Do you have an example/snippet of VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher.Settings displaying how to set the Timer Pulling Interval option? I tried adding <TimerEnabled>true</TimerEnabled> <IntervalMs>1000</IntervalMs> to the SettingsValues section, but it didn't help. I have the same behaviour with freshly unzipped VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher. I'm about to switch back to Linux. Why is Microsoft so eager to hinder their users' productivity?
The program starts (i see the tray icon) and crashes a few seconds after, I can't open the settings in GUI. Could you tell me the text/configuration version of that setting?
Could you elaborate on how I should enable hte (new) timer pulling option? The version on your github used to work for me but now it doesn't...
It stopped working for me again today after a Windows update...
Thank you for sharing this! However, when I start the patched application (freshly extracted from the zip), it crashes. EDIT I deleted add files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\slions.net\VirtualDesktop\assemblies and it fixed it! Maybe this information should be put forward! Thanks so much for this! original message follows Event viewer logs those two errors: Application: VirtualDesktopGridSwitcher.exe CoreCLR Version: 7.0.2024.26716 .NET Version: 7.0.20 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled...
