I've got a dozen identical workstations I'd like to image with a single master golden image. I've installed the software but I keep getting annoying sysprep errors because Microsoft keeps downloading stuff from the MSFT store without my choosing to do so. Is there any way to block the Microsoft store so I don't get sysprep errors? Unfortunately I need to connect this golden image machine to my on prem AD to install a few apps and that is when Microsoft in its infinite wisdumb autodownloads garbage...

I have a new Dell Optiplex 7060 which is giving me an inacessable boot device and crashing on boot. Nothing I do seems to get the image restore working. Here is what I did so far.... I've created this image (golden image or clone) on the same hardware (not that it matters w/ sysprep). I then sysprep the machine and shut it down. Next I take an image of this machine to clone on the other machines. Next on the new desktop to be cloned, I go into UEFI and change to UEFI mode with secureboot OFF and...

I have some Dell 7050 with M.2 drives in them that I cloned. As I did before the only way it worked to clone the desktop was in UEFI to Change bootmode Settings to Switch to Legacy mode, Secure boot off There after I clone the machine, reboot, do sysprep and basic config. Then I reboot and turn back on Secure boot in UEFI it says no disk found... Any ideas? It worked before this way without issue...

Thanks Mounir but I"m all set. I booted into Clonezilla and did a disk image backup to external storage. Upon reboot I saw there was in option in UEFI to boot from the VeraCrypt boot loader. I choose it and then I booted into Windows without any issue, from there I decrypted the system disk and moved any sensitive files to an additional internal drive I just added to the machine and encrypted with Veracrypt. Turns out the recovery 'disk' was on a USB on my desk even though I didn't need it. Everything...

I've been using Veracrypt for a long time without issue but as of this morning I'm unable to boot. I've encrypted my systems disk (C:) and created a backup of my recovery disk on an external disk that has since died. I do know my password. As of today (the day after Microsoft Patch Tuesday) Windows 10 is now booting into attempt startup repair but it will never work cuz it can't see the system disk C:\ =( Is there way around this? Can I boot into Ubuntu, fire up Veracrypt and decrypt the system disk...

Hi, I am using Clonezilla for Windows 10 imaging . I do however have one question: What are people doing in terms of patching -- post image. Can I for example, go right to Windows 10 version 1709 or do I have to do all the patches beforehand. Patching post imaging is just soooo slow and Windows 10 is a complete POS in general. Any help is appreciated!
