Thank you very much, Steven. Xuo.
Hi, I think this forum is not the correct one. Let's forget about it. I've posted it again in the Clonezilla/Help forum. Sorry. Xuo.
Hi, I post this message here as I think the first place I've posted it was not the correct one. Currently, when I create a disk image of my server, I get for ex : -rw------- 1 root root 599031765669 juil. 6 08:40 sdi1.ext4-ptcl-img.zst Is it possible (during the image creation), to create smaller files (of 50 or 100GB max each) which, concatenated together, will create the 600GB file as above ? Hi, I've better understood. Thank you for your help. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I've read the link you gave in your answer but I don't understand how I could use (for ex) labels to solve the issue. All my partitions are labelled but how can I force Clonezilla to propose me to clone a partion using a label name instead of a /dev/sdax name ? Regards. Xuo.
Hi, Sorry for this very very late answer (I didn't notice you answered to this post). Using the Ubuntu-based version of Clonezilla solved this issue. And this version could detect my wifi chipset while the Debian-based version was not able. Conclusion : continue to maintain the Ubuntu-based version. You can forget about the Debian-based one :). Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I have a recurring issue which is that Clonezilla "seems" to rename/mix my partitions. This becomes a nightmare when I want to restore one of them. I'll try to be clear : I have saved these 3 partitions : sda1, sdc1 ,sdc5 (see picture IMG_20210703_123420.jpg) I could select them from their type (ext4) and size. But their name is not correct. As you can see in the next pictures (IMG_20210703_145247.jpg and IMG_20210703_145306.jpg) : sda1 is in fact sdb1 sdc1 is in fact sda1 * sdc5 is in fact sda5...

Hi, I see it is possible to interpret markdown files using vim. Is it possible to do the same with nedit ? Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I'm using NEdit version NEDIT-NG-START-3-g3f9b730 with a french keyboard. The key '-' can have 3 functionalities : hit '-' => - sign hit 'shift+-' => 6 sign hit 'AltGraph+-' => | sign The bindkeys 'Ctrl+6' is supposed to set 'UPPERCASE'. But when I hit 'Ctrl+-', I decrease the font size. If I hit 'Ctrl+Shit+-', the I set 'UPPERCASE'. I can't set 'lowercase', except from the menu Edit => lowercase. How can I get the behavior of nedit-classic ? With nedit 5.7, it works the expected way, ie : Ctrl+-...
Hi, Thank you for the explanations. 1) Adding the 'new nedit' ncl executable in the PATH variable made the ncl executable to work without the need of 'make install'. 2) Using the "new nedit" executable made me lost my nedit-ng configuration (colors, font, ...). Hi, I've checked that on another cluster, the compilation was working fine. It seems that the file parse.c is created by another executable (bison). This bison executable file is different/bad/older than the one on the 2nd cluster. After I've used the one under /bin/bison and not the default one placed in another directory structure, the compilation passed. Xuo.
Hi, I've just tried to compile the git version of nedit and I get the following error : m4_divert_push(0)cc -c -I../Microline -I../Xlt -O -I/usr/X11R6/include -DUSE_DIRENT -DUSE_LPR_PRINT_CMD -ansi -U__STRICT_ANSI__ -o parse.o parse.c cc: error: parse.c: No such file or directory cc: fatal error: no input files The file parse.c was available in older versions of nedit. Is it normal that this file has been removed ? How to get the compilation successfull ? Regards. Xuo.
Hi, Under normal circumstances, changing the font via X resource is the better way - actually that's what they are intended, namely user customization. I agree. But it's not easy to find the correct variable name and syntax to do the job. Well, modifying the source code is not easy neither. And about the date, it would be great to find a way to know which version we are using. The commit value is not really self-explaining. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, About bigger fonts in the tabs, if I remember correctly, I modified in source/nedit.c the line with : "*defaultRT.fontSize: 9", by : "*defaultRT.fontSize: 12", Xuo.
Hi, Yes, it really works better with the "*". It is interesting to have this feature. I'll try to implement it at work as well. And about the nedit version displayed in the "Help" window ? Is it expected to have this 14 Jan 2017 date ? Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I've just downloaded the latest git version of nedit and tried : ./source/nedit -xrm 'XmLFolder.inactiveBackground: #999' -xrm 'XmLFolder.inactiveForeground: #fff' ~/.tcshrc ~/.aliases but I couldn't get the same look than the one displayed in : https://sourceforge.net/p/nedit/discussion/34507/thread/9eb2464a90/1bf9/94f4/ad6f/9096/fdee/80bd/attachment/2020-11-10%2016_18_06-Window.jpg But what I don't understand is that when I look at the nedit version, I get an old one (see attached image). Hi, It looks like this post : https://sourceforge.net/p/nedit/discussion/34508/thread/ad8ebdb4/ I hope you'll find a way. I didn't but I'm interested in. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I don't think it can help because I don't change the device name. I've saved sda1 and I want to restore it onto the sda1 partition. This is what I don't understand in the error message. The saved partition needs to be restored on exactly the same partition (same disk, same computer, ...). The only "strange" thing in what I do is that the LVM partition comes from 2 different disks (sda8 and sdc1, which is more or less the goal of an LVM partition) and I want to restore sda1 which is part of a...
Hi, I save partitions, not any full disk. I know not to save sda8 and sdc1 because they are parts of the LVM partition which is the one where data are written during the save. And I want to restore some partitions (other than sda8 and sdc1). Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I'm using clonezilla-live-2.6.6-15-amd64.iso. I've saved several partitions (sda1, sda5, sda6, sdb1) on an LVM partition. This LVM partion consists of sda8 and sdc1. To do this, I "enter shell" and : mount /dev/mapper/vg_export1-lv_data /home/partimag (see https://sourceforge.net/p/clonezilla/discussion/Clonezilla_live/thread/a51e4c5c49/?limit=250 for the reason why I do that). Then I save all my 4 partitions. This works fine and I don't see any error message. Now, I want to restore sda1 but...
Hi, No reason except I'm not very familiar with git and when I was looking for a "clean" latest version of nedit, the tarfile was highlighted (https://sourceforge.net/projects/nedit/files). I even didn't notice that a git tab was available. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I've just installed the patch and it works fine. tar xzf nedit-5.7-src.tar.gz cd source ln -s ../makefiles/Makefile.linux cd .. patch -p1 < mp050226-V3-1-git-2ea66d9c.patch make docs make linux I agree. If it is possible to include this patch, it will be great. Thank you very much for your help and my apologies for passing on a baby to Bert who was not his :) Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I "think" it was Bert Wesarg but I'm not sure at all. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I add the picture of the extra menu for "Matching Patterns". Xuo.

Hi, Here are my 2 config files : the one from nedit and the one from nedit-ng (which was translated from the nedit one as far as I remember). Regards. xuo.
Hi, If I give you my nedit syntax highlighting color (from the .nedit/nedit.rc file), you'll be happy with that ? I think it is more or less 95% the default colors. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, I'm not sure to understand what a color scheme is. I think you don't mean syntax highlighting depending on the language used in the window editor ? Regards. Xuo.

Hi, I've lost all the commands I used to create the lvm. I remember I've followed the explanations described in this document (https://www.linuxtricks.fr/wiki/lvm-sous-linux-volumes-logiques), in french ... So don't waste time, as I've found a workaround that works fine for me. Maybe just one more question : should a lvm filesystem appear in the Clonezilla gui (as /dev/mapper/vg_export1-lv_shared for example) ? For ex, if the lvm is created from sda8 and sdc1, should the lvm appear (/dev/mapper/vg_export1-lv_shared)...
Hi, I'm afraid it is far over my skills so I won't be able to do it. What surprised me is that I don't think I'm the only guy using lvm and trying to make an image locally. But it lokks like I'm the only person who gets an issue. Maybe Mageia + lvm is the root cause. Regards. Xuo.
Hi, With the last version of Clonezilla (clonezilla-live-20180812-bionic-amd64), I do not have the 2 error messages at the beginning of the boot. But the issue is still the same : the lvm partitions are not available. So I've manually mounted /home/partimag : mount /dev/mapper/vg_export1-lv_data /home/partimag then on the gui, I've saved the partitions NOT used in the lvm partition (/dev/sdc1 and /dev/sda8 in this case). So I could write on the /home/partimag all the others partitions. Regards. ...
Hi, I have a problem when running clonezilla-live version 20170626-zesty-amd64 on the PC (lets call it pc4) where lvm partitions are available. Before I explain my issue, I need to say that when I run the same version of clonezilla on another pc, I can clone the local partitions on the server (pc4) without any problem. And I write the images on the remote lvm partitions (the ones on pc4). The partition where the local images are written to is selected through the nfs_server menu. It is when I run...

Hi, I've just compiled nedit using OpenMotif 2.3.3 (this is the version available at work, no lesstif available). When I open a tab, the selected tab should display the name of the file, while the unselected tabs should display the file names in "grey" mode. In my case, the difference beween the 2 modes is really tiny. In other words, it is hard to make the difference between a selected tab and an unselected one. Do you know on which (font ?) parameters I can play with to get a greater difference...
