Still encountering this issue in 1.6.1 Command: xml ed --inplace -u "/path/to/element/@value" -v "sample "value" text" path\to\file.xml Resulting value in xml element: sample "value" text (note that I've inserted spaces between '&' and 'quot' so that it doesn't render as a quote in this comment).
