Well, I was clearly null in MBR and null in GRUB (there are a lot of errors in my pre-suppositions above): the MBR, concerning my configuration and in general also according to what I read, is not IN the primary partition (as I thought), but FORWARD (in the 512 bytes that precede it, precisely). And Grub is installed in the MBR (at least partially). On the other hand, since within different versions of a distribution, or between different distributions, the antecedents of Grub and itself change,...

Hello, (I don't practice a lot of workstation installations, so it might be a silly question.) I'm looking to set up a tests station - multi-OSes, hoping to install both Linux and Windows versions on it - with G4L. For information, my (supposed) knowledge in operating system management is the following: - the concept of Microsoft's MBR a.k.a. Master Booot Record: it's a small program for booting on Windows, written at the beginning of sda1 (globally, the first 500 Kb, with a "ladle"). - Grub, the...

Hello, (I don't practice a lot of workstation installations, so it might be a silly question.) I'm trying to use G4L to manage several partitions on a PC, in the following way: starting from a PC with 3 partitions - a ext4 partition for several Nixes, a NTFS partition for Windows, and a fat32 partition as a common storage partition for the .iso files - is it possible to install alternatively: - install Linux on the ext4 partition and save its .iso on the fat32 partition, - install Windows on the...
