Please add myself and my father to the list of users who would prefer the ability to use the device in portrait orientation while the camera is open. It's rather disorientating for the device to suddenly change orientation simply because I've opened a camera app, especially when the app's interface appears in the correct current orientation. It would also be acceptable to have an option to keep the status bar visible while the camera is open, as a visual indicator of where it is (and prevent accidentally...
